Our experience at this restaurant was awful from start to finish. Upon arrival, the host asked if we needed a table for two, which was odd since we were clearly a party of three. After correcting her, we were led to the table by the server, who again asked if we needed a table for two. Then, as we walked to the table, she asked, “Does she eat?” referring to our 7-year-old, which was incredibly confusing and uncomfortable.
Once seated, the waitress didn’t introduce herself and immediately asked, “All you can eat?” When we asked for clarification, she said we could either do all-you-can-eat or a la carte, but didn’t explain either option. We had never been to the restaurant before, and asked if we could see a menu. Again she said we had to choose how we were ordering and I said I didn’t know because I have never seen the menu. She dropped the iPad on the table, told us to figure it out and tell her when we were ready (she never came back to the table) so we were left to figure it out ourselves. After some confusion, my husband went up to the front to clarify, and they helped him place the order, but offered no apologies or explanation for the rude behavior of the server.
My drink never arrived, and the food was delivered randomly with no explanation, dropped on the table by different servers who didn’t look at us or speak to us. My dish never arrived, and I had to ask for it multiple times. Any time we needed something we had to just ask random servers who were dropping food off to tables around us. Once we asked for something and were told to “hold on” and that server also never followed up, he just walked away and never came back. The iPad showed items as delivered when they weren’t, and we felt completely ignored.
When we were ready to pay, again no one checked on us the entire time, so my husband had to go to the front again to settle the bill. The there was confusion over the pricing. They insisted on charging all three of us for the all-you-can-eat option, even though we had clearly explained our order being all-you-can-eat for my husband, and a single dish for myself, and a single dish for my daughter. After several rude and condescending exchanges, with multiple staff intervening for no reason, they finally allowed us to pay as originally planned. This was infuriating because no one explained anything to us or helped us understand anything in the beginning, and when it came time to altering the bill, our original server knew exactly which items were to be al-la-carte which just confirmed to us that she did understand my husband from the beginning that those items were not part of his all-you-can-eat items.
To make matters worse, the last dish we received came with a white hair on the plate. At that point, we were too frustrated to even care. Plus it arrived to the table 10 minutes after we had decided to leave (my husband left the table to try to check out and because there was a disagreement he was away from the table for a long time). While the food was decent, the service was so bad (basically laughable at this point) that it ruined the entire experience. This was by far the worst service we’ve ever encountered (we have traveled extensively and have both worked in the restaurant industry). As a side note, a table near us had a small barking dog under their table (not a service animal) and a table on the other side of us were smoking a vape…we were sitting indoors and count believe either of these things...
Read moreThe service is atrocious. We arrived right at opening as we wanted to have lunch before going to the ruins. We chose a table and were given instructions on how to use the tablet. The waitress asked if we wanted all you can eat, and she offered to come back in 5 minutes while we discussed it.
She never returned. While waiting on her, I placed an order for drinks. No one arrived. 15 minutes later I flagged down a waitress and she said she'd look into it. She also set our tablet into AYCE mode.
It still took another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive. I had at that point also placed an order for food and it came very piecemeal to the table. After I had placed the second order, my son was still waiting on his mango roll. I waved down another server who was going to look into it. My daughter shared her fried rice with him as he was getting hungry.
I then waved down another waiter for the missing sushi. The table behind us was getting all their orders promptly it seemed.
Everything kept appearing randomly, and eventually after nearly two hours we gave up. We were still waiting on a miso soup, but we were just done.
Their allergen list wasn't accurate by the way, which when dealing with an Italian only menu can make it tricky for non native speakers. We caught a few items that weren't listed with their allergens.
The toilets lacked a handrail along the stairs, making it hard for my 78 year old mother to navigate. And the window between the men's and women's bathrooms was just weird. It also kept setting the taps off.
Their prawn crackers were stale and oily. -15/10, wouldn't recommend. The food, otherwise, when we eventually got it, was good. The...
Read moreParty of 4. We arrived at a quiet time and were seated almost immediately. We asked for outdoor seating for the fresh breeze. After another party were seated they immediately lit up some foul cigarette, we asked to be moved inside and staff obliged us. The electronic menu was new to most but we opted for a la carte rather than the all you can eat option. We were slow to order as one of our party was dealing with an issue with our rental. One of the staff was able to help us translating . Thank you so much Rosie aa she went above and beyond to help us. Once we had ordered, food arrived fairly quickly after our drinks. We had a stir fried rice dish, salmon nigiri, chicken skewers , spring rolls and a couple of other dishes. The food was delicious reasonably priced ( on a par with what we would pay at home) and beautifully presented. We did have a bit of a problem with our ipad order as the battery was low and the server replaced it for us. The restaurant was clean modern, stylish and quite spacious. Indoor seating was at tables or in a booth, which is what we had and made for a cosy dining experience. In all a relaxing meal after a rather...
