Me and my wife went to see the Antiquarium of Pompeii (It. Atiquarium di Pompei) after visiting matchless, brilliant, magic and insanely amazing ruins of Pompeii some weeks ago. It was mindblowing. The Antiquarium is a place where they show things from Pompeii before the volcano exploded in 79 AD. It was made in 1873 by a man named Giuseppe Fiorelli and they opened it again in 2021 after fixing it. The place has many nice things to see, like paintings, floors, silver things, jewels, statues, people who died in the volcano and more. We learned many things about how people lived, prayed, ruled, made art and did things in Pompeii. We also saw some new things they found when they dug up Pompeii, like lucky charms from a house with a garden and new people who died in a villa. Maybe the Antiquarium is a good way to start seeing Pompeii Ruins, which we also saw. But we did this in opposite way. We visited this splendid museum after walking on ancient Pompeii streets and listening to the charming guide for hours. We were surprised by how big and good the old city was, which was covered by ash and fire for a long time, for more than 1500 years. We walked on the atreets, went inside the houses, temples, theaters, baths and shops. We truly felt like we went back in time and saw how Pompeii was before and after the volcano. It is so insanely magic to think about ancient people who walked, worked, lived here... We think you should go see the Antiquarium and Pompeii Ruins with that legendary Amphitheatre if you like history and old things. It was a greatest fun and good time for us. We will always remember how great and magic Pompeii was. And we hope that we will return there...
Read moreBeautiful and informative museum in Pompeii. I highly recommend coming here prior to entering the city, especially if you’re on a self-guided tour. There is a ton of info in this museum and a lot of well-preserved and interesting artifacts, including casts of people who died in the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
You can easily spend an hour here, so plan to arrive at Pompeii a little early! Definitely need to experience this. The entrance is kind of strangely placed — you’ll have to walk all the way to the bottom of the hill...
Read moreIt was great experience. I always wonder and want to see this antique city. When you think conditions of 2000 years ago it was really developed and great city. You can think you are at beginning of modern date while walking on in street of Pompeii. Buildings street water canals stores everything was great and I think today's city design base to Pompei's architecture. By the way remains of people was not much we saw just 3 or 5 remain of people and of course in the little historical museum...
