As an American tourist from Buffalo, NY, and a self-proclaimed food lover, my two-month journey through Italy so far—from Milan to Desenzano del Garda, Rome, Naples, and finally Pompei—left me surprisingly underwhelmed. Despite venturing beyond the typical tourist spots, I just hadn’t encountered a meal that truly wowed me. That is, until I stumbled upon this modest gem that’s a block away from the Santuario della Beata Vergine Maria del Santo Rosario di Pompei.
From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with genuine smiles—a small gesture that means a lot when you’re far from home. The pasta dish was cooked to perfection, seasoned exquisitely, and the homemade tiramisu? It felt like I was doing drugs 😆. I found myself sitting at the table long after I was done eating, reflecting on how much I am grateful for in life, all because of how good it all was 😆
I shared my delight with the cool as hell chef, Angelo, confessing that this was the first meal in Italy to truly impress me. I even told him I will dine there every night for the remaining two weeks of my stay in Pompei, eager to try every dish on the menu…..tonight was night 2 lol oh and a liter of still water, a main dish and the dessert was all for under 20 euro….amazing!
Of course, everyone’s palate is different, and this is just my own personal experience….but if you find yourself in Pompeii, this unassuming spot is definitely worth a...
Read moreIf you find yourself in Pompeii during a heatwave and you’re wondering, “Should I risk spontaneous combustion for a good plate of pasta?” — the answer is YES.
We rolled into Na’ Pasta on a soul-melting 94°F day (that’s 34°C for our fellow overheaters across the globe), and let’s just say: Pompeii wasn’t the only thing erupting — so were our sweat glands.
First things first: the pasta? UNREAL. The carbonara was so creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned that we briefly forgot our bodies were evaporating. The Pasta Nati was amazing though. Don’t miss out and not get that!
We were genuinely concerned the chef might collapse from heatstroke mid-stir, but God bless him, he powered through like the gladiator of gastronomy. We considered organizing a GoFundMe for an industrial fan for the kitchen. Someone check on that hero.
As for us? We dined in puddles of our own enthusiasm and perspiration. We tried fanning ourselves with the menu, our napkins, our will to live, but alas, we ate every last strand. Zero regrets. The pasta was that good.
Would we return? Absolutely. But next time, we’re bringing our own portable AC unit, a fan the size of a Fiat, and possibly a kiddie pool filled with ice.
To summarize: • Carbonara: 10/10 heavenly. • Ambience: Very “pizza oven, but make it personal.” • Chef: A resilient legend. Someone check their core temp. • Would we go again? Already planning our next...
Read moreAmazing pasta!!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Great for vegetarians!! In true Italian fashion, the wait for the food was long, but not terrible and totally worth it since everything came out super fresh!!!
The place is definitely small...about only 3 tables inside, rest are outside. The waiter was extremely apathetic and looked as if he couldn't care about anything, but his actual service was fine in that food came out in a timely manner and he was attentive enough that we didn't feel awkward (although he sure did perk up when he was chatting with a cute Scottish tourist 😂).
We ordered the house wine and the limoncello spritz, both were simple but good. The spritz was refreshing in the heat. The caprese salad was simple and flavorful and a great compliment to the pastas. We got the Gnocchi in tomato sauce, the pesto pasta with burrata and the zucchini pasta. We LOVED all of it!! (Although of the 3 we could have lived without the zucchini pasta...but if I hadn't ordered the pesto pasta I would have been completely happy with it...I'm just a sucker for a delightful pesto!)
Overall amazing, authentically Italian...
