Il Rifugio dei peccatori Praiano — Restaurant in Praiano

We stopped here on the way down to our holiday apartment in Praiano to grab some supplies. It wasn't a grocery store (which was what we'd hoped for) but we were able to grab enough bits to cobble together a half decent meal for the evening. The roast chicken fresh off the spit was great, as were the lovely bread and olives. The courgettes (or zucchini to everyone else in the world) and roast potatoes were past their best - probably cooked first thing in the morning with the life then being slowly drained out of them over the course of the day in the warming counter.

The staff here are super friendly though, and the owner REALLY made me feel welcome which hasn't been my experience everywhere in Italy to date. When I pointed to a mystery joint of meat and asked what it was, not only did he explain it was roast pork, he then went on to cut off a massive slab for me and...

Today I stumbled upon this wonderful little shop. Went to buy some water and seen that they offer cooking class, so my husband and myself decided to give it a try . What an amazing time we had. Very private and one on one with the couples . Antonino was very friendly and helpful always happy. We had so much food , we couldn't eat all of it so we had to pack it up to take home . We made ravioli from scratch and eggplant parmesan, seafood appetizers, fish and meatballs. At the end we had the most amazing tiramisu and pastries. Giovanna was also very wonderful for teaching me how to make pasta . Overall an amazing experience. I do recommend to book in advance, we were very lucky today for just walking in. Thank you for a wonderful hospitality. Definitely coming back again...

My husband and I enjoyed the most delicious lunch here and then a fantastic cooking class that evening, just the two of us! Giovanna and her partner provided such a fun experience for us— the wine was flowing throughout our multi-course menu, with appetizers and fun little surprises in between. At the end of the evening, we all shared photos of our family and laughed over a few stories via Google translate! It was such a unique and laid-back experience, immersing us in the culture and cuisine of the Amalfi Coast.
