Used to be my favorite in praiano and we visit every year. But two years ago something happened and I waited to post a review because I’m not the type to do so. During a major storm they found nothing better than to tether the plastic veranda tarp to the tables which resulted in all patio tables to rock back and forth. Many patrons got uncomfortable and all a sudden there it happened. A gust of wind lifted our table, flipped my red wine half into my plate and half into my pants. I hadn’t even started to eat yet. The server came over immediately and said: “let me take that away from you” cleared my side of the table and I went off to quickly clean the red wine from my pants. When I got back I asked if the waiter said anything else and he did not. Not did they offer a new dish (I just lost a plate of seabass and would have been ok with pasta and red sauce as I had nothing to eat). They also didn’t offer a new glass of wine. Didn’t offer dessert, didn’t offer an apology nor did they comp anything. At the end they brought the bill and same waiter told me that they expected a tip as it wasn’t included in the price (trying to get the typical American style 20- ish% tip) This is Europe (I lived here for 32 years) we don’t do these tips here as it’s already in the price. Read moreWe recently dined at La Strada on the Amalfi coast, and had a great experience. The view from the restaurant was absolutely stunning, with the sunset over the water creating a picturesque backdrop that added to the charm of the meal.
We ordered the special starter, prosciutto and figs, and for mains a seafood pasta (pictured, accidentally started before taking a pic!) the pasta had such a generous portion of seafood, and the sauce was super tasty. We were full from the mains but couldn’t resist some dessert, profiteroles and the lemon ice-cream, both delicious.
The service at La Strada was friendly and attentive, which added to the pleasant experience. To complete the meal, the staff recommended a local wine which was lovely.
In summary, La Strada offers a memorable dining experience with its stunning view, tasty food, and friendly service. Definitely...

We’ve been in Italy for almost a week and this was the best meal I’ve had. We ordered the fried appetizer which had a nice variation of vegetables and cheese which you can’t go wrong. I also got a salad and asked for olive oil and vinegar (dressing is not a thing in Italy) luckily olive oil and vinegar covers it and makes an excellent dip for your bread.
For dinner, I got the lemon ravioli and my husband got the gnocchi… both were delicious and super filling. We also got a side of grilled veggies. Overall this was a great experience and I would trust ordering anything off of the menu. I got a tiramisu to go which was excellent. I have been pretty meh about most places here so far but this was actually good...
