A very enjoyable "beach" with great view of Positano and everything you need for a day of relaxation on the coast. There is also sun all day here! As of June 2019 renting a chair for the day (which comes with an umbrella) is €20 and then €5 per towel. The food and drinks are more affordable with cocktails between 10 and 15 Euro and beers around 5; Pizza, salads, and panini are around 10 each. These are pretty affordable prices for the Amalfi coast! The fruit does get pricey but the watermelon was very good and already cut up for us. The pizza was actually pretty good which I wasn't expecting from this place so I had one each day I went. The cocktail selection is great and most of them are pretty good. They will bring you lots of ice (if you ask) when you order water: drinking glasses filled with ice and a bag of ice to put the bottle of water in to keep cold.
Beach is in quotations because there is no sand or even pebbles really, just cement and rocks right against the water. Past the "One Fire Beach" area there is maybe 5-7 meters wide of pebbles going into the water but it's much easier to just jump into the water or take the ladder down by the main area. The water is amazing and you can see the lovely Positano while you swim. There were several jellyfish on both days I went and I was even stung on my second day as were many others. There is a net to scoop them out but when the waves get high they can be difficult to see. I think it's pretty good that I spent at least 2 hours total in the water and got out with just one sting. The staff had some special ointment to help with the sting as well that they offered free of charge. There are also some floats and pool noodles that are available for use by anyone as well as kayaks that you can rent.
If you call ahead of time you can reserve a shuttle boat to pick you up from Praiano or Positano which I think is free. And when calling ahead you can reserve sun chairs which you should do for weekends in high season so you can get a good spot that has sun all day and is closer to the edge for a better view. The last shuttle boat to take you back from the beach was around 6:30, after that you'd need a private boat to get you or climb the 400+ steps to the main road. I'm not sure how early the shuttle boats run but the earliest I was picked up was about 11.
The music was a mix of electronic house with a handful of popular songs thrown in. It was a pretty chill vibe and not too loud most of the time. Definitely music aimed at a younger crowd. There are spots to easily go where you cannot hear the music if desired.
The staff was mostly very friendly. All were competent and helpful. They accept...
Read moreSERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! I’m actually here right now as I’m writing this. It started as a rainy day which is slow for them which I understand. BUT we are still paying customers expecting an experience. And it’s now sunny and nice out so that shouldn’t have even be an excuse. Servers RARELY came over to ask if we wanted drinks. Empty drinks for an hour. I had to go up to staff who were all talking to each other. (Which they have been doing the whole time). Horrible. After talking with staff they immediately started switching out our melted ice and water which is good….BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING THIS REGARDLESS RAINY OR NOT! There were 4 other dueces there….. 4. That’s all. They also ask on your booking, are you celebrating anything special? Well we got married two days ago so I put that on there…I am not expecting any special treatment but why do you ask then if you don’t even acknowledge it???? They haven’t said one thing about it. Do not recommend.
We also expressed their instagram makes the beach club seem very lively, fun and interactive…we didn’t get that experience at all. They barely spoke to us and again didn’t come over to ask if we wanted drinks, food, etc. What’s the point of having servers?? Make it self serve or a walk up bar. Also they didn’t do “melon time” because they said they had no one to cut the melon…….? 10000% not worth the money! The only reason I’m even giving it a 2 is because of the view and the drinks we did have tasted good.
Edit* after I wrote this we did talk to staff..initially the woman we spoke to told my husband and I, and 2 other couples “if we don’t like it we leave” WHAT?!?!? She never once said sorry or that they were wrong for all standing around and not providing service. (No joke maybe 15 staff members were working with 8 customers in the whole pool club) Then a gentleman came over who was very nice but I still don’t think he was understanding what we were saying. They ended up comping our drinks which I expressed multiple times that’s not what we want…simply an apology and some good service?? We will not be going back nor recommending to...
Read moreDo not be fooled by their Instagram, we decided to visit this beach club because of the "party vibe" the portray on their Instagram however this only seems to be the case when they feel like it. We came on a day where it's was a little rainy & cloudy in the morning so there wasn't as many guests as there normally would have been (which is understandable) however after lunch time the sun came out so we were eagerly awaiting the party to start. That did not happen, infact what did happen was a friend of the staff arrived and most of the staff stayed chatting to them. There were at least 12 staff with no one coming to offer to refresh drinks etc. when we asked about "melon time" we were told there was no one to cut it? And when we raised our complaints about service and lack of experience we were told "if you don't like it, go" after alot of back and forth it was agreed we would not have to pay our £200 fee for the beds which was a nice gesture however paying the money was not the problem, we were happy to pay we just wanted the experience they plaster all over Instagram. We left very disappointed and wishing we had decided to go to one of the other many different beach clubs...
