Bar Gelateria Artigianale La Carapina — Restaurant in Rapallo

As a gelateria the rating this place currently has on Google maps makes absolutely no sense so I assume most people are giving high scores for the cafe or don't really know what good gelato is (despite much better alternatives being available nearby).

I tried four of their flavours and only the fig/walnut one was ok. The "crema all'uovo" (which is my main test for a good gelateria) was absolutely inexcusable: pale in colour, densified with some kind of gummy starch that made it chewy like bubble gum, taste reminding me of industrial I've cream bought in cheap cardboard cylinders in supermarkets. We went there to grab some icecream to go, then I asked if I could try one flavor and the guy at the window was saying (extremely unfriendly) that I can only try one because he has work to do. At that point I was already a bit confused, then my friend also asked to try one flavor (1, and not 5!) and he directly said “no”. We argued with him and he was like “No you can’t try I have to work!!”. Not only that it IS his work to serve costumers as us, he was also extremely unfriendly. Was here with my boyfriend for a crêpe and something to drink. They have lots of options for coffee, which is really nice and the crêpe was pretty good. However the service wasn’t. Our server did not seem happy at all to be working there and was very cold and/or annoyed, everytime we called her and asked for something.
