Sole 1936 — Restaurant in Rapallo

Most amazingly rude reception we've EVER seen in Italy. We reserved, specifically asking for a table by the water, and the waiter pointed us to a table against a wall, out of any breeze, far from the water. We asked instead for the table in the front row a waitress had just offered another couple, and he said "you can't have it, it's booked." We said yes, it's exactly what we booked. He raised his hand at us in some impolite gesture , shouting "show me the message, I'll give you the table." We showed him the confirmation message they sent, but of course our request was not there but on their website form. He eventually found it and just said anyway, well, I reserved the front row for someone else. You can have this table (indicating the unpleaaant one) or nothing. Throughout, he was just unconscionably rude for a waiter at an allegedly chic restaurant where we had specifically reserved in advance. Hands down the best dinner we’ve had on our trip to Italy. Sole Bar & Restaurant is a small family owned restaurant in Rapallo located on the water. It offers both a water front patio and a comfortable interior dining area with views of the water. The menu offers both fresh fish and meat dishes among other delightful choices and has a wonderful wine selection. The staff is outstanding, attentive and friendly to foreigners. Rudi, our server, personally attended to our every need offering wonderful suggestions throughout the dinner. Although we did not expect him to speak English, he spoke both eloquently and fluently which added to the experience for those of us who only spoke the basics of the language. The quality of the food was spectacular. Every dish was fresh and magnificently presented. Sole is easily one of the best restaurants in the Rapallo area. Horrible experience. I have never seen such a worse service in Italia. The waiters don't make you feel welcome and used slangs to one foreigner client. Unprofessional and its a shame, that with this beautiful view and beautiful culture, they delivers such horrible experiences to clients. Please don't go there.

Food quality - 4 /10. Pasta was not properly cooked. Etiquetes - -1/10 The waiter was shouting when I asked them that you should not speak slangs to foreigners who don't understand Italian.

Forget this, they don't even know where to put the plates, how to serve to a lady. Bunch of arrogant amateurs.
