Ristorante La Gardèla Ravenna — Restaurant in Ravenna

Completely empty but wouldn’t seat me. Italy does this thing where they have reservations for 10pm for example but if they don’t want to seat you despite no one being in the restaurant they’ll claim “piena” because of one seating per table per night. The guy was downright rude and it frankly reeked of typical discrimination of single people and that I don’t look like their usual clientele because…. I arrived right when it opened and it was 100% empty. Legit restaurants always save tables for walk ins. He blamed the threat of rain. Sorry but there was NO rain and it never came. Give me a break. I would have taken 45 min max to eat but nope, they prefer to be elitist assholes. Go figure. It’s 2024, La Gardela, good service and logic matters. (Edit: See photo evidence that they were not and are not busy an hour later, in fact less busy than usual. I would have eaten and been gone by now).

I ate at Al Cairoli nearby and it was phonemenal with fantastic service that was very welcoming of solo diners, so I lucked out in the end. Highly recommend you go...

Very rude waitress. (Literally threw a bag of bread at the table...in addition to just having a terrible attitude.) Food was okay. Prices are reasonable. I told them at the register several times, but they didn't charge me for it...we thought they had added it to someone else in the party's bill, so I paid thst person back. Then the rude waitress chased after us and said we didn't pay for the appetizer and acted like we were trying to scam them or something. I went ahead and paid for the appetizer, but they had way overcharged another member of our party if that appetizer wasn't included in their bill. Just all around unpleasant place...

I have a dinner with my family there in the end of August, we take a table at the corner of the street, don't shy, go the same way-you deeps in the real authentic atmosphere of the Italian culture of street dinner , like in the past. The restaurant have a lot of clients, it's a miracle, if you can get a table without pre-reservation, if you have a moment to make a reservation in advance, when you decide to go to Ravenna-do that,believe me it cost to spend one evening there.
