Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse. Rimini is going through a tough time at the moment regarding good places to eat out, and this place takes the top spot for terrible service. Ordered a platter of cheese as an appetiser which was meant to be accompanied with a fig marmalade and a locally sourced honey. It arrived without honey. When I asked the waitress she told me they don’t have it - well how about telling me before I place my order! So I’ve got big lumps of cheese with a warmed up local flat bread, which tbh I found hard to swallow. As a compromise for not having the honey I asked for a second fig jam (3 times) to assist in the mastication process, which annoyingly fell on deaf ears. The cheese was now sweating and the remains of my tiny flat bread was hard and curling at the edges - I decided to cut my losses and go. I cancelled the rest of my meal, paid for what was brought to my table even though I left half of it there, and vowed to write this negative review, never to return. So no lunch for me. If I could give it zero stars I would
Edit: Something I didn’t mention as I didn’t want to appear pedantic. I ordered this appetiser because I spotted from a distance another table with the same thing. I noticed quite clearly that in the centre of the platter was a nice little salad. Mine didn’t have this. I then looked at photos of others reviews and noticed the salad was quite nice with cherry tomatoes as well. Mine had nothing - you need consistency which this place...
Read moreWe had a vert tasty meal here in the center of Rimini. Very good special Carbonara romagna with sausage, the pasta was well done. Not the best Carbonara but was definitely very good, I think it could have used more egg yolk. The sliced beef was the best I've had in Italy so far, finally a real medium-rare as it should be, not over or undercooked, very tender and juicy. The portion was quite big (350g), I took the garnish of baked potatoes with rosemary, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, the rosemary was edible (crispy), the grilled veggies were also good. They offer homemade bread on the house, it was kind of dry because it was not freshly sliced. For desert we had the pastry platter with crema di mascarpone, everything was very soft, full of flavors of vanilla and fruit. The reason why we gave 4 stars and not 5 was that we had to wait for maybe 15 minutes outside even though there were free tables, and noone would come to invite us in. We had to stop a waitress and ask her directly as noone observed we were waiting. This is definitely a sign that the restaurant is understaffed, it is not the fault of the waiters. They looked overworked and barely found time to clean the tables. Anyway, the food was served really fast after we sat down. Also very good value for money. Would recommend...
Read moreSuch an amazing food with terrible service. Shame! Upon arrival we were greeted by lovely lady by the door, which made us feel welcomed. Our waitress (girl with glasses and curly hair) was clearly ignoring us from the first moment, she felt like agitated when we asked her what apetizers she recommends). We ordered one starter to share and mains. She was passing by several times trying her best not to catch our eye even though we were trying to get her attention(I had to stand up and ask her to bring the one missing plate). As a result we’ve been waiting one hour for one main course, whereas the rest of us has already finished our meals. Then we wanted to order desserts but she did not make any effort to offer us some, not to mention the fact that our empty plates hasn’t been cleaner after we’ve finished out meals at all). We asked her for a bill, which was clearly another trouble for her. When leaving, she looked at us didn’t say goodbye and didn’t reply when we said so. Such a shame, because the food itself was lovely!!!! The only thing to suggest is to train the staff properly, as a person that had been waitressing for many years it was really strange to experience...
