DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE A FOREIGNER.
We came to this place after midnight the night we arrived to our Airbnb. Thankfully, it wasn’t my first time in Italy because otherwise I would’ve gotten a very bad impression of the people of this country. We were first served by a very nice lady, who was happy to to take our order before she left for the night, and toasted all the Panini that we had. We were the only five people, and I told her that each of us we’re gonna be paying for our order, we do in North America. She didn’t have any problem with that. Although it took us a little bit of time to take the order because we don’t speak Italian very well. We were precise of what we want after she placed the Panini’s on the toaster and got it ready, she said the only other employee who might well be also the owner, to help us finish the order and that each of us were paying for our own panino. Right from the beginning, that second employee in the picture had a very bad attitude. I can make myself understand in Italian. That’s not really a problem, but he always answers in a very rude manner. The final item was simply to give us a cappuccino, which he served in a regular mug, so I asked him to please change it to a takeout cup with a lid, and he was disappointed because of that request. And once he made sure that all of us paid, he told me. “Tu non vieni domani” ( YOU, Don’t come tomorrow). Really unpleasant experience on the first day of our trip in Rome. My family members who were here for the first time were really impressed and disappointed. I know a lot of Italians, I know how Italians normally speak and interact with people; so I am certain that this gentleman was really bothered with our presence.. this cafe offers a service that does not represent Italians or even the importance of tourism in this country’s economy that the server who helped us at this cafe does not seem to show any appreciation forward in . Read moreFollowing up on my review below and the response from the business requesting that I reconsider the opinion… I do think again about my experience and the response from the business trying to downplay what really happened, not even apologizing for the rude experience towards me and our family.. I speak actually four languages… and Although my Italian is not 100% perfect, I do understand quite well the words and moreover the attitude of the servers towards us… Spanish is our first language, so my guests perfectly understood the Italian “ tu, non vieni domani” which in Spanish is Tu No vengas Mañana.. )You, Don’t come tomorrow”. That server should be fired if he is an employee.. he even threw the lid and sweet we requested .. ah but he was smart making his comment after we paid… I would have otherwise cancelled the entire order. This place is a typical local place that does not welcome foreigners.. everyone can see it in prior reviews.. and the business has never accepted the responsibility or apologized. Terrible...
Read moreIeri sera, alle ore 19.30 sono entrata acquistando un pacchetto di caramelle per poter ricambiare la cortesia di poter usufruire del bagno. La mia, più che altro era una sorta di richiesta d'aiuto in quanto venivo da lontano e dovevo fare altri km in auto, mi è stato detto che il bagno era appena stato pulito e non potevo andare. Vista la situazione ho insistito, con estrema gentilezza ma, senza alcuna pietà, mi è stato detto di no. Sono uscita e la pasticceria accanto mi ha accolta senza alcun tentennamento, nonostante non abbia neanche consumato o acquistato nulla. Volevo ringraziarvi ancora per la cortesia prestata!!!!
"Gentile signora, non le è stato negato l'utilizzo del bagno, ma le è stato spiegato, con educazione e cortesia, che il bagno e le scale erano stati appena lavati. Le abbiamo detto che avrebbe potuto usufruire del bagno attendendo 10/15 minuti, il tempo necessario affinché si asciugasse; questo per la sua sicurezza, perché pavimento e scale bagnate sono scivolose e pericolose per un'eventuale caduta. Se lei non ci tiene alla sua salute, è un suo problema. Noi siamo molto scrupolosi. Riteniamo di aver perso anche troppo tempo a darle una "ennesima" spiegazione, quindi la ringraziamo per la sua ignobile valutazione, ma la consideriamo esattamente per il suo valore: inutile. "
Le rispondo qui perché non ho altro modo, con la sua risposta vale più di ogni altra recensione (ignobile ed inutile), se la sua dipendente mi avesse detto di attendere sarei stata io per prima a ringraziarla e andare a cercare da un'altra parte, ma in assoluto non mi è stato detto così, sono una persona adulta e certamente non una sciocca. Non si permetta di dirmi che non penso alla mia salute è proprio per questo motivo che ho insistito, mi stavo sentendo male.
