Gavius — Restaurant in Rome

Horrible food. Absolutely dreadful.

In a group of six nobody was happy. The "fresh" pasta was NOT fresh. Even the waiter had to admit it when I asked him, he looked so embarrassed to have to tell me.

I only ordered a plate of vegetables because I had heard bad things about the food, but somehow they managed to make that bad too.

My daughter received anaemic looking chicken covered in a congealed butter sauce.

The risotto was very bad and wasn't even really a risotto.

Avoid this place...

Very poor service! We waited for almost 1 hour for 1 risotto and 1 pasta and the restaurant was empty. There was only a pre booked table for a bday party of 11 people from one of the companies nearby that arrived 15 minutes after us and they had 2 courses before we even get our food. Conserverò un bellissimo ricordo in questo posticino, di una raffinata cena a 3 consumata con mia madre e il mio bambino. Il Gavius, che rientra nel complesso del Novotel, ha un ingresso indipendente e un paio di piccole salette. Non ospita un gran numero di posti a sedere ma, ad ognuno di loro viene riservato un cordiale benvenuto e assicurata una permanenza rilassante. Il Direttore gentile e professionale, il cameriere solare ed attento (a tratti più del direttore). Abbiamo mangiato una carbonara che ha fermato lo scorrere del tempo: spaggettone al dente, cremosità dell'uovo, guanciale croccante e speziato. Proseguito con ottime carni (entrecote e filetto di manzo) con contorni freschi. Abbiamo chiuso in fine con un tiramisù in tazza dalla consistenza spumosa, quasi sembrava una mousse.
