We spent two weeks in Italy and Hostaria Po was one of the best meals of our entire trip. Located in a residential neighborhood away from the throngs of tourists, Hostaria Po offers a unique menu, traditional Roman dishes with some respectful reinterpretations that are a delight! Our sever, Vicenzo, took the time to ask about what we wanted and then built a mini tasting menu on the fly. Appetizers of caponata, caprese salad, fried anchovies and house made focccacia with the best olive oil in Italy were paired with a crisp and refreshing organic white (we had excellent wine pairings with each dish). Second course was half portions of caccio e pepe with a delightfully light and fresh home made pasta and diced crudo topped with lime zest, a perfect counterpoint to the richness of the dish. Final course was two dishes: perfect grilled octopus atop sautéed potatoes with diced tomatoes and red onions and a completely unique pork dish (perhaps prepared sous vide and then seared?) with roasted red peppers, orange slices and fresh basil accompanied by a cool yogurt sauce—each bite was a symphony of flavor. Dessert was a marvelous pistachio soufflé filled with a pistachio foam and macerated cherries along with a great interpretation of tiramisu. Vincenzo hooked me up with a grappa one-two punch—a snifter of white grappa to which dark grappa was added, served atop a wine glass filled with hot water that gently warmed the drink. A delightful room, great service, fantastic food and an owner who cares deeply about the food. Bravo!

Succulente ! We are french People Who ate in Many Italian restaurant in France and in Paris, but this is by far our best italian restaurant ever ! We have been there two consecutive diner. We had grilled pecorino and grilled funghi for the starters then calmar, cooked perfectly with a pretty good lemon sauce and seabass with artichokes al dente, a first try for us really good. We were really hungry so we had each other a pasta dish in more of that, the carbonara, exelente, and the gnocchis really tasty. We had a delicious Zabaione with passito and a cannelo with red fruits realy great no too much sugar so really great. In the second diner we took parmagiano in fila realy tasty with a good sauce and a bagnole di baccala soft and nutritious. Then we ordered pasta with anchovy and ravioli with buratta and brocolini. Really tasty too. For the dessert we took a tiramisu, the best way served because the coffee is outside and you can pour the quantity you want and delicious by the way !

And of course with all of these great wine with good meal/wine choice (the White wine was a litlle bit to Cold for us but 2 min outside and its perfect) but very good ! Special mention to the nocciola luquor that I loved. Oh i forget to mention de awesome olive oil served as an apetiser with fresh foccacia. Thank you for every thing you made our Rome tour better. Thanks to the Waiters Who made an awesome job and thanks to the boss for his french explanations Thanks for everything Hugo and...

I was so lucky to happen upon this wonderful restaurant on a Monday night. I was able to get a table by myself as a walk in. The dining room was very clean and nicely set up. The service was absolutely professional and felt like fine dining. The food (artichoke salad, ravioli with green vegetables, sea bass, and a digestivo with a cannolo for dessert) was perfectly executed and gorgeously presented. The best part, though, was the music. No ambient acoustic covers here! It was a playlist of classic rock by the original artists. I couldn’t help but bop along as I ate my dinner. The waiter and manager were very kind and accommodating and made sure I enjoyed every part of my four course meal. I’ll come...
