Upon our arrival, we were assigned a room. Because I am an American Express Platinium holder, I can get a free upgrade whenever there are available superior rooms, but at that moment, no superior room was available. When we arrived at our room, the bed was unmade, and luggage and clothes were everywhere. It was somebody else´s room.

While in reception they were trying to solve their mess, we went to the cafe bar to have a coffee, we ordered at the bar 2 coffees and a slide of banana bread. We sat at a table waiting for our order, but after 15 min of waiting, there weren't many customers at the place at that time. I went to the bar to see what was happening, and after 5 more minutes of waiting, the waiter asked me what I would like to order, as we had never met before.

After a while, someone from reception came and told us we had been upgraded, now mysteriously there is available a superior room available. We are moving from the 7th floor to the 3rd floor to an "upgraded" room with a balcony. The balcony depth was around 50cm with views of the car parking and trash containers.

The hot water in the shower wasn´t warm enough.

There is not a breakfast buffet, you have a tiny menu with high prices with no taxes included, you can´t guess this until you get the bill. For example 3 eggs omelet 11euros and a coffee 3euros + taxes. Waiters were making funny faces and gestures (no smile at all) when you were trying to order repetitively.

I had to specifically order my coffee warmer as I got it cold all the time.

At the checkout, they tried to charge us double for one of our breakfasts. When I asked for a detailed invoice, they couldn´t give it to us, as they had all the tickets for all the customers in a carton box, impossible to find. We had two breakfasts during our stay: The first day I had 2 coffees and my companion had 2 dishes and 1 coffee. Second day I had 2 coffees and 1 dish, and my companion had 1 coffee and 2 dish. The total for that 2 breakfast was 93 euros.

In summary, this hotel food is very pricey for the quality, presentation, service and location. Terrible customer service for a 4 stars hotel.

I’m writing a review with a two stars even though i wanted it to be more but my experience with the Check-In was horrendous, everyone else’s experience with checking in early was very great including my friends and some of the reviews written here, mine was not very great unfortunately. I arrived around 3am when we first came to the reception first thing he told us was “system is locked as it’s not checking in hours and I can’t help you.” It’s not a great way to start your trip with. After a while of asking why or how, he told us that he’s not receiving any more checking in as the full hotel is BOOKED. And that’s a lie! He continued to say “you can go anywhere else and check other hotels other than here.” We’re all girls where can we go in the middle of the night!!! We noticed he was a little mad so we asked for the manager he said he was the manager, if so you can help us and open the system?? He refused and said no! So How can this be fixed? He suddenly said oh! Now i could open the system but i’ll not give you your original room i’ll give you a one shoe box for the price of TWO! We said we want our room as an early check-in he said it wasn’t available because someone is in it now!! We paid for the room twice the original price for 2 hours only and we also paid for our original room also!! We were very tired and he used it against us so we ended up paying it and it was unbelievably expensive! After we paid he said when do you want your original room to be ready????? He was LYING AGAIN! No one is in our room but he wanted us to pay! It was the worst stay ever and i’ll never recommend it to anyone visiting rome again because they might face the same receptionist we faced (ahmed) and he would make them sleep in the street. We told him that when we checked out he said he didn’t care about our review and that he wasn’t the...

Amazing experience at The Hoxton Hotel! We landed late night and the check-in staff was just amazing and it was very reassuring to know they were always there to help us. Check-in was a breeze and we got to our room as quick as possible since we were very tired. We stayed there for a few nights, left for 2 nights in Venice, and came back for our final day before we left. The rooms were so comfortable and especially the shower, we loved it! There was music and a party one night but we love the ambience and despite their being music and lots of people, we stayed on the first floor and didn't even hear a peep when went to sleep. The staff was so amazing that we felt right at home whenever we interacted with them. They recognized it was our first time and welcomed us with such kindness which was an amazing first impression in Rome. We also left our bags with them after check out to explore the city before we left and they were so kind to store them safely and got them back with no problem. In the mornings when we would come down to leave, they would always greet us and treat us so kindly. If you are looking for a true 5 star hotel, please look no further. This was an amazing first time experience! The location was also great, although we used mostly uber to get to the center, it's pretty walkable as well and there are many restaurants near as well as inside the hotel. The lobby was our favorite part because after a long day of walking, we were happy to come to a dimmed ambience with light music playing, we spent a lot of time after our day down there. We only had one issue which was the wifi which was a little slow in our room and made it hard for us to call people back home but it wasn't such a big deal since we had data as well. Thank you so much for a great experience! We hope to truly...

This is the second Hoxton we have stayed at (the first one was the one in Shepherd's Bush in London right after it opened) and we were not disappointed. We were here to visit Rome for the first time and also to celebrate our son's 21st birthday and were joined by a friend (also celebrating a birthday on the same day) who flew in from Burundi and her husband in from Brussels, Belgium. We convinced them to stay at the Hoxton also! Reception was friendly and efficient, and the staff treated all of us to a glass of Prosecco since there were birthday celebrations. We spent each day in the lobby having drinks at least once and coffee in the outdoor area each morning. The hotel is close to several bus lines and we used the buses to get into the central Rome area for the attractions. The rooms were spacious (although we found out that the one we booked for our son was a bit more spacious that ours) The bathroom and the amenities were also excellent. We had to extend my son's stay by one day and the staff accommodated our request (the extra day was a bit more expensive but well worth it) In the evenings on the weekend, there is a young and hip crowd that gathers for the nightclub downstairs - it served for great people watching. Staying at this Hoxton made our first visit to Italy memorable and we look forward to staying at other locations in the future!
