This is a hard review because I went here with friends and tried their "all you can eat" menu and the real issue was that we weren't getting dishes fast enough. The restaurant was super busy even on a Monday and I'd expect them to be able to hand this kind of crowd since it's huge and the staff is numerous but apparently they can't. The most annoying issue is the way spaces are organized, an open kitchen sits right in front of the small entrance where people are told to wait to be escorted to the tables, which are distributed on both sides of the restaurant, so there's a constant flow of waiters trying to grab food from the kitchen and bring it to the various rooms while navigating through the many people waiting to be seated. Also with the kitchen being open and there being so many customers it can get really noisy as cooks are shouting left and right to the waiters who don't bother listening to customers trying to call for them. We were told that the dishes would keep coming until we were satisfied but this was not the case, we've had to call for a waiter every time, multiple times, and incite them to bring us something more. After two hours we gave up but we weren't full. Now I always think that the food is the most important part and I must say that it was excellent, both the meats and the sides were wonderfully prepared and cooked. I could see the cuts of meat being prepared in the kitchen for other tables and they looked juicy and scrumptious as well. We also had a delicious dessert. Overall we spent 24 euros each, counting a bottle of wine, but we definitely weren't full and I could see from the menu that ordering à la carte would end up...
Read moreKilo's expertise is all things meat. They serve several cuts of steak including Japanese wagyu and Australian Florentine. They also serve cheeseburgers, tacos and what they call "Spade" which in English is translated as "swords". But I would call those kabobs.
We were torn on choosing so we split the Australian Florentine steak with potatoes and a cheeseburger with fries. The cheeseburger was good. We didn't care for the fries. But the steak was excellent and my wife adored the potatos. I was delighted to learn their bar is much better than the usual Italian restaurant bar. Kilo has a superb stock of spirits, mixers and liqueurs. Atika, the bartender was very friendly and accommodating to this cocktail snob. We have him recipes that he was able to mix for us. Unfortunately like many Italian restaurants, the toilets have no seats. The vibe of Kilo is festive. This place is a winner. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars....
Read moreThe meat was good though my steak arrived with a very big chunk of fat which was almost third of the whole thing. We took two dishes for start, and the first came out but the second never did. We told the waiter when he brought the sides of the steaks and they came to ask if we still wanted it, so we passed. The meat didn't arrive as we asked, one steak was supposed to be well done and it took long time till it came back. The only one who didn't order steak ask for a dish of chicken, that the description of the dish was a bit misleading so she was disappointed. For dessert we took two, and because one of us had her birthday I went and asked for candles on the cake. They didn't arrive with the cake so after I signaled the waiter she brought ice scream with it. The service was average, the food was good, but the...
