What an authentic place! Amazing arrived a little late at night around 10.30, its a little bit off the track but wow is it worth it going up the little steps as a tourist was a little daunting but when you are up those steps you are treated like family! A lovely thin and crispy pizza with beautiful mozzarella and seasoned with herbs and pepper perfectly to start with, the girlfriend is a little picky so a pomodoro pasta with a lovely rustic sauce, and I had the authentic roman pasta with cheese and bacon it was lovely and cooked to perfection nice and aldente, for our second dinner in Italy Rome this was just amazing and the building itself has some beautiful artwork inside, one other thing the waiter's where just lovely and made my girlfriend feel so special saying sorry but she is number one beautiful girl and high five'ing her for her beauty just made our great day one to remember and for it to be so special, thank you everyone at La Villetta what an amazing place you have and people please try this amazing place out its worth the extra 10 minutes to get away from the tourist traps!! Read moreNote: photos are of the buffet. I was looking through our photos and remembered that this was our best meal in Rome. Our trip was last May. This was the only good Italian food we ate. How did we find it? After walking through Palatine Hill etc. just as it was closing, we were exhausted and asked an official staff where to eat dinner and he recommended this place as they were also going to go there for a party with his coworkers in a few days. It was away from the center and I don't remember the metro stop. I think there is more than one restaurant with the same name. We ate from the menu but the pictures are from the buffet (I think it was 16 euro per person). The food was flavorful, tasty, good-sized portions and they had gluten-free options! The waiter was a kind and attentive older Italian gentleman. I was really touched by this because we read so many stories of wait staff being racist and rude. We were the only tourists and the rest were locals. surprisingly there wasn't...
Read moreI hate to leave a poor review but this was quite honestly the worst sit down restaurant experience I’ve ever had. We were looking for a last minute spot to eat dinner in Rome and came across this place, it had good reviews so we figured we would give it a shot, maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but the food was not at all restaurant quality and tasted something I would feed my dog. Perhaps it was just a bad experience for us but we ordered the Salsiccia and Prosciutto calzone - highly disappointing, as well as the Prosciutto Crostini. Also was not too pleased with the atmosphere of the restaurant, it felt very outdated and sort of eery at least in their outdoor seating. Our server was kind but could likely tell we were not pleased with the food. I recommend going somewhere else if you’re travelling Rome as this was a dinner we’d...
