I came back to this restaurant last night after having two delicious meals 3 years ago and giving it 4 stars. Sadly, it seems a lot has changed. The pasta dishes were undercooked, which the waiter responded to by saying it’s the Roman way. I’ve had my share of homemade Roman meals where this wasn’t the case. Worst of all, when I told him the bread was stale and basically inedible, he told us “this is how it is” and just seemed angry. Afterwards, we had the impression that not being Italian, we were treated rather unequally. The tables around us with Italian clients all seemed to get complimentary Limoncello, ours were 3€ a shot, almost as expensive as the vinegary house wine that at least made sense because it was cheap. The stale, old bread was 3€ and nowhere pointed out previous to order. All of this would’ve been actually acceptable as I don’t even do these kinds of reviews, but the waiter’s attitude and the service that makes you feel like as a non Italian you’re getting ripped off and not actually welcome, is really disappointing. This is very sad because I brought my best friend on his first day in Rome to show him what I thought was one of my favorite places in the city, and instead we got careless food and a rude service. Never...

They increased the price of both my dessert (from 5 to 9 euros) and my starter (from 4 to 7 euros). They also added a 1 euro service charge they'd never done before. One inaccuracy I could class as a genuine mistake, but 3 I can only assume was on purpose. As soon as the waiter saw me checking the menu prices he sheepishly came over and agreed the dessert was wrongly priced (he was clearly aware of what had happened). Then I pressed him on the starter and that was also admitted. I couldn't be bothered arguing the service as by that point I wanted to leave. Such as shame as I thought the food was good. Simple hearty Italian fare. But they have lost a repeat customer...
Read moreThe owner can respond rudely to this all he wants, I'm telling you - this is not good food. Everything was overly salty. The sauces were not "saucy". The carbonara, I wouldn't even call it that, horrible. The gnocchi tasted store bought. Meatballs were good, but idk if that's just in comparison to everything else. This was my first meal in rome after traveling all day. I ordered in from the hotel. Food arrived quickly, and it was hot. That's everything good I have to say about this experience. (We ended up walking to a fantastic little grocery store and got fresh bread, cheese, and meat and ate that for...
