Oggi Gourmet — Restaurant in Rome

A pretty nice Italian cuisine shop in a huge mall. Entering there to try my first pasta in Italy. I was welcomed by the waiter who was extremely friendly and helped me understand the menu since it was in Italian. Cozy, simple yet lovely decor. I ordered spaghetti with red sauce, fresh basil, and cherry tomatoes. It’s served with Parmesan cheese on the side and the customer can put the amount he/she devours. Th spaghetti was perfectly cooked till perfection, the tomatoes were fresh and gave it special taste ,and the tomato sauce was AMAZING !!! For the dessert I ordered a Tiramisu. It was out of this world !!!! It haven’t tasted such tiramisu before. The overall experience was great, the vibes are nice !!! However, the only thing I advice them to work on is the service speed. I always say you can’t have a bad meal in Italy, but I was proven wrong today. I ordered the eggplant meatballs appetizer and my husband ordered the cacio & pepe risotto. The presentation of the meatballs was beautiful but the taste was horrible. The meatballs sat on a sauce that was similar to the orange-mustardy sauce you eat with pretzels. I tried my husband’s dish and it too was horrible - too salty & too peppery, plus they served the white risotto with a balsamic sauce (???)!! Of course we had to pay for the uneaten meatballs as the waiter provided a million excuses as to why he could not take them off the bill. Whatever, we paid and I am vowing never to eat at a place not filled with locals. Even the McDonald’s had tons more customers. Keep walking. This...

Siamo andati di venerdì e, come prevedibile, il locale era pieno, seppur con un po' più di comodo rispetto ai sabati e domeniche. Siamo comunque stati serviti in tempi accettabili, anche se i camerieri - pieni di buona volontà - erano un po’ in confusione. In 4 abbiamo preso due menù del giorno a prezzo fisso (12 euro), 1 pizza e 1 insalatona, più 2 dolci e 4 caffè. La pizza, Margherita con alici, era ottima; ugualmente ottima e abbondante l’insalatona.

Menù a prezzo fisso invece da migliorare. Non discuto sul prezzo: per 50 cl di acqua, una bruschettina ina + una crocchettina ina fritta + un primo a scelta tra due primi e una pizza Margherita direi che i 12€ sono accettabili. Anche ottimi se scegliete la pizza, che, l’ho già detto. è ottima. Ma se mi fai un pranzo a prezzo fisso incentrato solo su una pastasciutta, puoi fare il prezzo che ti pare, la pasta deve essere quantomeno passabile. E qui non lo era, tanto più se considerate che la scelta era tra 2 primi romani: matriciana e gricia. La pasta aveva la consistenza lievemente gommosa del precotto. Che può anche andare bene per locali così affollati, ma soltanto se lo sai fare. Inoltre il condimento era eccessivamente grasso, e il guanciale eccessivamente tostato. Tantè che sia io con l’amatriciana, sia mio genero con la gricia abbiamo poi digerito faticosamente e male.

Nel complesso è però un locale che si può consigliare, anche perchè a Euroma2 è inutile cercare una ristorazione migliore. Quindi OK, accontentiamoci così, ma scegliete con molta attenzione i primi piatti (nel dubbio restate sulla tradizione napoletana, che i cuochi ci si ritrovano meglio), oppure rimanete sulle insalatone e sulla pizzeria, due ambiti nei quali sarete sicuramente soddisfatti.

Il locale ha anche propri servizi igienici, indipendenti da quelli del Centro commerciale, accessibili anche a disabili.
