Panem et Circenses - Il Panino del Gladiatore — Restaurant in Rome

This place is a story. While I was asking what to order and getting recommendations, a random guy sitting at the table behind me playing candy crush kept butting in with suggestions.

Turns out he was the owner, Sangelo. Awesome guy.

Come here for the sandwiches. Stay for the personality and vibe. The gulash is as good as he says. Cooked over 8 hours in a bowl made of sourdough. Burgers are so juicy. Salami sandwich is soooo clean and you taste every ingredient.

Best part? They're open till 12 when everywhere else is closed.

You won't regret eating here.

One of the hidden gems that we found when we were just strolling around trying to find somewhere to eat close to our Airbnb. We were a group of Americans who have been eating pizza and pasta for awhile and were craving a burger. We were staying nearby, so went to get some burgers to go. The older gentleman who was working very kindly answered any questions we had to help us all decide. He was really patient despite us not speaking Italian. They had a great selection of burgers.
