I have a very disappointed experience in this restaurant, despite we have put it into our bucket list a long time ago before the trip.
We were the very first customers of the day in the restaurant during lunch time. I was quite attracted by the 12 Euro lunch as mentioned by many commenters. But sadly, the owner didn't let us have the lunch menu. Instead, we received the grand menu at a higher price. At first, we thought the lunch menu was cancelled, but clearly not after we saw the local Italians order the lunch with the lunch menu handed to them by the staff.
Besides, we ordered a stewed “beef“ (as it appeared in the English menu) but what served was stewed pork (by its taste and texture). We had a translated conversation, but the issue could not be resolved. The staff took away the dish and we weren't asked to pay for that dish.
To be fair the atmosphere is nice but we were disappointed by the way we were served during the meal. The spaghetti and pasta were also up to standard. I believe we would have enjoyed a lot more if we ordered the lunch menu (with bread basket, starter, 1st and 2nd dishes with water) at 12 Euro. We finally paid 22 Euro for only two 1st dishes, with a large beer.

Read moreWhen you visit a new place you wish to try specific dish, don’t you? Me too, so I went to this well reviewed restaurant to have a special roman dish: Trippa Romana. The dish was horible, no exageration. The special meat( cow tripe) was overcooked, the sauce seamed unprepared, like tomato sauce out of the bottle, and the overall atmosphere was sad. Not exactly much interest in cleaning, hygene and all, in the too small kitchen and too underground toilet…. So, no entartaining discutions with the old joyfull owner, as in the restaurant presentation, no good food or atmosphere.. so, no return there and no good review from me. Btw, while in Rome, ask in restaurants for Trippa Romana- if propperly done, is a real...
Read moreI was seduced by the specials board into ordering the spaghetti con vongole, which was unpriced and maybe colours my whole experience/ review. My mistake. They found me a table on a busy Saturday night and my greetings and service was warm and friendly. They seem only to serve wine as a 1 litre which seems to miss a trick. Antipasta was pleasant enough. And the second plate, ok if a little oily. For the spaghetti it came swimming in olive oil with few fairly small clams, a fair number of which were unopened. Overall very tasteless and a poor dish for which I was charged €19. The cost of the spaghetti pushed the whole meal into a different price bracket and left me feeling it was overall poor and bad...
