I’m dining here right now and sadly changed my reservation from Il Galeano on recommendation of one of the hotel staff. Thus far. the service is slow though very friendly. They really try very hard and are very enthusiastic. The oysters were great but the crudo platter was boring and hugely disappointing. And as someone else commented, little thought and certainly zero innovation involved. Nothing memorable in the least. The “salmon tartare” was nothing more than smoked, diced salmon with a glob of mayonnaise. The red tuna was unidentifiable. I’m having the gamberoni as my “secondi” and it is equally lacking in any forethought in its preparation. It says it has chili oil, haven’t tasted anything remotely spicy, and I didn’t even have a remote hint of the other ingredients mentioned in the menu. The seafood was exceptionally fresh — from the crudi to the pasta dishes, everything was perfectly balanced in flavor and presentation. It’s definitely on the expensive side, but worth it for the quality and attention to detail.
If you’re looking for an authentic Roman seafood experience away from the chaos of the city center, Gallura is absolutely...
