Wanting a break from pizza and pasta, we decided to try Le Hotpot. The restaurant had a beautiful and warm ambiance, making us feel welcome immediately. The service was impeccable; I have no complaints. Ordering at Le Hotpot is a unique experience. You choose what you want to include in your hotpot from a tablet provided by the restaurant. For the soup base, we opted for the tomato and the spicy options. While I generally enjoy very spicy food, this soup was extremely spicy, to the point where I couldn't fully enjoy its flavor. So, be cautious with the spice level if you're sensitive to heat. The meats and vegetables were quite fresh, adding to the overall quality of the meal. There was also a sauce station where you could create your own custom mixes, which added a fun, personalized element to the dining experience. Overall, for a hotpot restaurant in Italy, Le Hotpot was quite good. However, be aware that the price can increase quickly since you are charged per item. In summary, I recommend Le Hotpot for a change of pace from traditional Italian cuisine. The atmosphere and service are excellent, the ingredients are fresh, but be mindful of the spice levels and...
Read moreTraditional, flavorful hot pot! The chicken broth had a great depth of flavor and had a sweet note from the red dates. The server recommended that we take the lowest spice level if we take the spicy sichuan broth. The soup was SOO spicy despite being the lowest spice level, so much so that we ended cooking all ingredients in the chicken broth. Note, growing up in Singapore, spicy food is not new land for us. The ingredients that came out of the soup were almost not edible due to the spiciness.
The ingredients were fresh, and we especially enjoyed the thinly sliced beef wrapped around enoki mushrooms. The dipping sauces were delicious: the creamy sesame sauce and rich peanut butter sauce spiked with chili, coriander, sesame seeds and spring onions paired lovely with the cooked hotpot ingredients.
The servers were friendly and helpful, however the price is relatively high for having had a mainly vegetarian meal (~30€ per person). The bill is quite messy as all the ingredients are added separately. The server pushed the dipping sauces on us, selling them as an included add on, when in fact we were charged for each dipping sauce. More pricing transparency would be...
Read moreWe recently dined at La HotPot and had a wonderful experience. Hotpot was a god break from the pasta and pizza while visiting Rome. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive, even though we didn't have a reservation. The casual atmosphere added to the enjoyment. The food was delicious, with a diverse selection of meat and vegetables, complemented by delightful sweet drinks. However, the broth oiliness was a slight downside, and providing soup spoons and deeper plates would enhance the dining experience. Nonetheless, we highly recommend La Hot Pot for a...
