We went here on the advice of a local. Sadly, I think the staff and owners were having a bad day. Either that or they're always rude and unwelcoming. We were told a table wouldn't be ready for half an hour (fair enough) but in a couldn't-care-less-if-you-come-back kind of attitude. More fool us, we went back as instructed, only to be told it hadn't been half an hour (it had been) and there still wasn't a table available. Had the waiter been less of an obnoxious jobs-worth, we might have considered waiting a little longer. As it was, we jogged the place on and discovered Cicirinella. Read moreWe entered and asked the owner if they accepted cards... he said they did not. We asked for the closest ATM. They gave us some indications towards a place where there was no ATM around (confirmed by a fast-food bar employee at the place the ATM should be). So we walked back just to find the owner and the employee strolling down the alley after having closed the restaurant for the day. So they preferred to lie to us sending us to search for a non-existent ATM than tell us the truth that they were about to close for the night. Awfull attitude. Hope they will soon close for good... at least no one else...
Read moreThis is a real gem hidden in Salerno. It is the last day of our trip and we have eaten a lot of different Italian food in a range of places. This is joint first on our list! It is small but absolutely amazing. The menu changes each lunch and dinner and is handwritten in Italian. We had no idea what it was- we couldn’t really read the handwriting but the waiter was so helpful in explaining everything to us. The food was fresh, delicious AND exceptionally well priced. We had a bottle of wine, a mixed starter to share and two mains all for €24. It may be cheap but it’s the best we have...
