Villa Frainela — Restaurant in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

Sono 23 anni consecutivi che vado a Selva di Val Gardena ed è la prima volta che ho messo piede in questo ristorante/sala da tè. Il cibo è sicuramente buono (io ho mangiato solo una volta a pranzo, ma l'hamburger che mi è stato servito era veramente buono, più di quanto non accada normalmente in altri posti di Selva, paese in cui la qualità media è di gran lunga superiore al resto d'Italia). Sono andato, poi, altre due volte a prendere un dolce. Dapprima una torta al cioccolato "scuro", un ibrido tra la torta caprese e la torta Sacher. La seconda volta ho preso un altro ibrido: una torta molto simile alla torta caprese al limone (anche se quella di Villa Frainela non contiene il cioccolato bianco). Ho anche consumato una cioccolata calda accompagnata dalla panna. Perché tre stelle al servizio? Perché il prezzo dei tè è spropositato (tra i 7 e i 9 euro per un tè, mentre la cioccolata calda costa 6 euro...), perché la cioccolata non era calda, perché la titolare è fin troppo austera. Se un cliente ti parla, devi rispondere, sempre, con un sorriso, anche se ti sembra petulante. Yet, it was the first year where I decided to try Villa Frainela. And I did it thrice, in three consecutive days. Food is good (I mean, I had lunch only once and I asked for a burger, but what I got was definitely outstanding, better than what you normally get in Selva, and trust me, Selva is a place where the quality of food, service and hosting is much higher than the rest of Italy). In the other two occasions I went for a dessert aprés ski. I first had a dark chocolate cake, somewhar an hybrid between a Sacher torte and a Torta caprese (traditional way), accompanied by a not so hot chocolate and whipped cream on the side. On the other occasion, I had another hybrid cake: a not white torta caprese. I.e. a cake made with almonds' wheat and lemon scent. This one also had flour and didn't have white chocolate. One might ask, why did I go there thrice if I wasn't too satisfied. And what is that I didn't like too much. Well, as I said, food is good. And I like good food. The hot chocolate was not hot (this is a problem), the price of the teas is absurd (7 euro for a Lapsang Souchong whilst best loose leaf Lapsang Souchong probably costs 14 euro a box). Absurd even more so, if you compare with the price for hot chocolate (6 euro, I think). Last, but not least, the land lady is a bit unfriendly. I am not saying she is not efficient; I am saying she doesn't smile. If people talk to her, she clearly shows her annoyment. For this place I recommend RESERVING A TABLE. Why? Because it's a must in Selva di Val Gardena and everyone goes there to eat a cake at any hour it is open. The ladies are very welcoming and nice to you, they speak both Italian and German. Prices are a bit up, but it is so much worth it. Devo essere onesta .... una sorpresa .... imbucato in una strada sopra Selva , aspetto esterno di un microchalet con una terrazza con ombrelloni gialli, tavolini di campagna e sedie scomode . Attendi per entrare in base allo spazio disponibile ( non troppo ) dando il nome e numero di persone . Poi quando ti siedi la giovialità non è di casa , vero, i sorrisi nemmeno , vero, la cortesia al minimo , vero , ma più per uno stile di una parte di queste zone dove non sempre l'ospitalità sembra dovuta . Ma poi sfogli il menu , scegli fra piatti di una cucina veloce ( niente primi piatti niente carne niente pesce ) originali e buoni e con una vetrina di torte fatte a casa in un laboratorio posto sotto lo chalet da urlo .......quindi la sosta ne vale tutta . Certo se cerchi solo piatti tipici magari qui non li trovi .... ma se ha sempre la fila fuori vuol dire che il cibo parla da solo .... dicono che fra qualche anno questo posto chiude per mancanza di cambio generazionale .....non fate questo errore : chiamatemi che continuo io ma vostra bella...
