Cascade Ristorante Pizzeria Bar — Restaurant in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

After reading so many good reviews of the place, and since it was also very close to where we were staying, we decided to have an early dinner from Cascade.

They started off itself on the wrong foot by serving us a different menu than to what was served to other customers. We did find it odd that the menu had Arabic/English translations and with such limited options on what to order but it never striked my mind that they have two different menus that they serve to customers who come there ; and i only noticed that a different menu was being served to our neighboring tables AFTER we placed our order.

Upon bill payment, i asked the waiter if there is any difference in the menu we got served and the “black” menu others were being served. He said its a halal menu which was served to us. I told him kindly, no one asked us if we wanted halal or not and they just assumed because why ? (We know why) The waiter apologized for the “confusion“ and for his colleague who seated us and told us when he took the order he understood we weren’t muslims and kept saying his sorry. But clearly i don’t see any confusion here because he could have easily told us that “this is a halal menu and we have a different menu with more options if you’re interested? “ But no. He decided to apologize AFTER i decided to clarify with him.

So yes. Very bad experience. Bad service. Average...

As soon as you enter, you can feel that busy atmosphere. The seats were almost all full, luckily had a seat of 2 for us available. The menu was organized with spring selections, their most recommended, and as it is a Pizzeria; a huge selection for Pizzas! What I was most impressed was for each dish on the side had a recommended pairing of wine that goes well with that dish, that was quite interesting!

The waiters were quite busy and was a tad slow in getting us plates,but that was totally fine thanks to their positive attitude.

We ordered: Filettini di maiale Primaverile classica pizza Filettini was beautifully plated and the flavors were rich and savory. Primaverile classica was a pizza with white Asparagus on the top with the special Bolzano sauce on the side.

Overall, had a great experience and enjoyed the dinner. People may say this place is a tourist trap, but in my opinion the pictures and their communication in english was a plus to my experience and the dishes do justice!

This was an extremely disappointing dining experience. As Asian customers, we felt clearly discriminated against from the moment we entered the restaurant. The staff ignored us, and after being seated, we waited nearly 30 minutes without receiving menus or any offer to take our order. Only after we proactively asked did someone finally come over, but their tone was cold and dismissive.

What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that basic services provided to other customers—such as olive oil and condiments—were not offered to us at all.

Such differential treatment is unacceptable and reflects a troubling attitude toward customers of different ethnic backgrounds. We sincerely hope that the restaurant management will take this matter seriously, ensure fairness in customer service, and prevent similar incidents from...
