Good points chef - food was delicious and high quality. location and interior is great

But service mainly becouse of waitresses was very bad. Order was poorly executed. Instead of 2 steaks and soups only one set was provided. We needed to intervent, but waitress started to act like its our fault and it could be felt she got irritated. Problem is that waitresses didnt speak good either in English or German, which in such restaurant should be rather standard. World "twice" was ignored by her even I also showed 2 fingers to assure. As everybody almost ate (I was hoping all that time second steak will come soon 😔) Ive canceled soup and ask only steak, but even then got both 🤦‍♂️.

Desert again ordered "ice cream twice" - got only one with two spoons 🤪.

I recommend if you speak Italian - if not I strongly discourage, as you might be surprised what will...

Going back! A Beautiful aesthetic place with delicious food! Despite having numerous food preferences, I truly enjoyed every dish, and the hot raspberry ice cream is to die for! **First place to welcome you if you wander around Ortisei around 5 p.m. When the rest of the restaurants are closed for break till 18 or even 19 PM. The lady manager or owner,( I’m not sure) is professional, polite, and friendly and she will make your stay comfy. The only down part I would say is the young waitresses that came in late and then had a meal in one of the middle tables (while the place started to fill in) and then just left the table without wiping it or even pitting chairs back. Da Checco is out of sight of the main street in Ortisei, but well worth seeking out. The building is beautiful and modern yet fits with the architecture of the South Tyrol. The service is lovely, caring but not overwhelming and in at least three languages. The menu is meat centric although I chose the fish and I was extremely pleased. My husband appreciated his entree of maiolino (baby pork chops). Both entrees came with lovely veg and potato prepared to accompany that entree.
