Pizzeria da Marcellino — Restaurant in Sassari

When we were here, we saw that a lot of locals were going to this place, and we thought it was a good sign of quality. But it turned out that if you are a foreigner, you will be treated completely differently. To put it shortly, the service is terrible. We are foreigners and came just to relax and see the city for three days. So, of course, we don’t speak Italian. We tried to order a pizza there, but the guy working at the place didn’t understand English at all. I showed him a picture and tried to explain what we wanted, even using gestures, trying to make it clear that we wanted a regular, classic, large, round pizza. When I tried to say the name of the pizza, he even laughed at my pronunciation, which felt very disrespectful. On top of that, while we were trying to place our order, a child was running around the kitchen — at one point he was sitting on the floor and then touching things with his hands. We also asked for a box, which, by the way, costs an extra €2.5. It’s the first time I’ve seen a pizza box charged separately. But in the end, despite all our efforts to communicate, we got something completely different from what we ordered — some kind of stuffed dumpling. I tried not to get upset because the price was a little cheaper than expected, but when we opened it, water mixed with tomato juice just poured out, and the dough around the edges was undercooked. This pizzeria has definitely been a highlight on my trip to Sardegna. After a month on this island they showed me again how friendly and good the food and service here is. The pizza was very good and i told them that i’m looking for a wine to take home for my parents and friends and he didn’t hesitate to give me one who was homemade by his friend Antonello. Dos veces he ido y en ambas he recibido un trato horrible por parte del personal. He ido dos veces, ya que es un sitio que queda cerca del alojamiento, es decir, por comodidad. La primera, reconozco que era tarde y comprendo que ellos quieran llegar a casa, pero las respuestas y actitudes no fueron las mejores, aunque nos hicieron una pizza después de bastantes malas caras (por la pizza es que le doy dos estrellas). Hoy he vuelto a ir bastante antes del cierre (ya que la otra vez la pizza no estaba mal) y he recibido un trato igual o peor que la vez anterior. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.
