A unique experience – having dinner in a real grotto carved into the rock. In the Scicli area, people still lived in such caves as recently as the 1950s. The atmosphere is somewhat dark and mysterious. The menu is refined, with small but artfully presented portions and sophisticated flavours. The meal begins with a little amuse-bouche: fresh bread with a splash of olive oil on a plate. I ordered octopus on a bed of potato mousse, while my husband had ospa da (a type of fish). Both dishes were very tasty. We even had room for dessert. The service was excellent.
