Gelateria Baciollo — Restaurant in Sestri Levante

We had a rather disappointing experience at Baciollo Bar Restaurant. The service was quite poor — the waiter was not friendly at all and seemed uninterested in helping. The staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed, even though we only went for a light afternoon snack and drinks.

Our order took a surprisingly long time to arrive, considering it was just a few drinks and a snack. One of the drinks was forgotten, and when we politely asked for it, the response was unprofessional and rude — we were told we had to wait longer, with no apology.

As for the items we did get: the Spritz Aperol was good, Spritz Campari was okay, and the toast was very average. Overall, definitely not worth the wait or the attitude. Wouldn’t recommend based on...

"I ordered an affogato, expecting the classic Italian treat: one shot of espresso with a scoop of ice cream. Instead, what arrived was an enormous portion of ice cream with a tiny bit of coffee—clearly made for tourists. As an Italian, I know exactly what an affogato is supposed to be, and this wasn’t it. Very nice Café and Gelateria. We came for Cappuccino and Espresso plus Brioches. Food and drinks were excellent, the waitress was attentive and helpful!

Would recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant stay.

We also decided to give the Gelato a try since they're famous for their ice cream and it didn't disappoint!
