Il Salotto is an exceptional restaurant that left a lasting impression on us during our stay in Siena. The food is simply outstanding, so much so that we dined here two nights in a row. On our first day in Siena, we stumbled upon the menu while walking to our accommodation and decided to give it a try. The experience was so memorable that we couldn’t resist returning the next night.
Our waitresses were wonderful—attentive, friendly, and welcoming—adding to the overall warmth of the dining experience. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. The dishes are incredibly fresh and evoke that comforting, home-cooked feeling, just like Nonna’s cooking.
It’s hard to pick a favorite dish because everything we tried was phenomenal. I’m not usually a fan of carbonara, but when my partner ordered it, I gave it a try—and it was absolutely incredible! The portions are generous, and the menu offers a wide selection without compromising on quality.

When I pointed out the mistake, the girl at the counter told me that since they didn't have the wine that I had ordered, they gave me a more expensive one (really!?!?). No, they didn't ask me if I wanted a different one and they didn't even mention it during the service. This has never happened to me before. And she said that as if it was the most normal thing in the world. This is clearly a rip-off strategy for tourists.

We sent them back and they came back much better, until we tasted them…you can tell they use cheaper ingredients and their sauce and cheese were tasteless. Hard for a Diavola ( spicy salami) to have no flavor. My husband is from Italy and he was extremely disappointed. We each ate 2-3 bites and left the rest. The server was nice but offered us nothing. We paid in full and left 95% of our...
