La Locanda is an amazing and beautiful restaurant with a clean, modern, and warm interior that serves stunning and classically prepared food from local ingredients. The secret of this restaurant is the two owners, Chef Giorgio and Andrea, two men whose passion for ther food and friendly, personalized service makes this restaurant so special. My wife and I were treated like long time friends visiting from out of town.
After finishing our excellent meal of salumi, pecorino cheeses, mozzarella, and a first plate of pasta with duck ragout, as well as second plates of pork and a beef tenderloin, and dessert, we shared dessert wine and a few bottles of local wine with our hosts after the restaurant closed and made new friends even though our Italian is basic at best.
We also had a look at the kitchen and it is spotless and clean, with everything floor to ceiling without a speck of anything and everything organized and labelled. This place is a professionally run machine fueled by love and passion for the food and customers.
I cannot imagine there is a better restaurant in Siena. If they were open today (a Monday) we would be back there again,...
Read moreWe had an unforgettable dinner at Ristorante La Locanda—easily one of the best meals we’ve had in Italy. The food was incredible across the board: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But what truly made the night special was our server, Guido.
Guido was hands down the best server we’ve encountered during our entire time in Italy. His warmth, charm, and sense of humor made us feel instantly at home. He guided us through the menu with genuine passion and gave thoughtful recommendations that made our experience even better. He struck the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, and by the end of the night, it felt like we were dining with a friend.
The prices were more than fair, especially considering the quality of both the food and service. We left full, happy, and already talking about how we’ll be coming back every time we’re in Siena.
If you’re in town, don’t miss this place—and if you’re lucky enough to have Guido as your server, you’re in for...

My husband and I + two of our friends lived in Siena for 2 months this summer, and this was by far our favorite restaurant. We tried at least 25-30 restaurants, and repeated a few, but we came here the most - upwards of 10 times. There were some restaurants that some of us loved and others didn't, but this was #1 for every single one of us. (Including various visitors we had, who we always brought here!) The spaghetti is the best I've had in Italy. The pappardelle is cooked unbelievably well. Really every single pasta is just incredible - we ordered each one almost every time.
On top of ALL of this, the staff are absolutely incredible. They are so kind, hilarious, and welcoming. They were the best friends we made throughout our summer here.
AND they have our absolute favorite Aperol Spritz in the whole city!
Just perfect in every way. Could not recommend...
