Absolutely phenomenal experience at Osteria La Chiacchera in Siena – truly deserving of 5 stars! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the unique charm of this lovely osteria nestled along one of Siena’s iconic steep ramps. The layout of the restaurant flows elegantly with the sloping street, giving each table a special vantage point of the city’s timeless beauty. It’s intimate, atmospheric, and truly one-of-a-kind! But what truly made our meal unforgettable was the exceptional service. Our waiter was hands-down the best of the best — gracefully navigating the incline with ease and attending to every detail with warmth, attentiveness, and genuine Siena hospitality. He made us feel welcome, well-cared for, and added a personal touch that elevated the whole experience. And the food? Absolutely outstanding! Every dish was a celebration of Tuscan tradition — fresh, flavorful, and presented with care. From the homemade pasta to the rich local wines, everything was spot-on. Osteria La Chiacchera isn’t just a place to eat — it’s an experience you won’t forget. Highly recommended to anyone visiting...
Read morePlease avoid this restaurant -We had to wait over an hour for the food to come out and 3 other tables that ordered after us were served before us (seems like they serve locals before tourists). It was only pasta and a meat dish so should not have taken over an hour. -They did not provide bread automatically even though it says so on the menu and we had to ask for bread to keep our baby from starving while waiting for the food. They also charge for olive oil with the bread. First time I’ve seen this in my 3 weeks in Italy. -Serving sizes were small. 5 pieces of ravioli for one dish is a bit stingy. Also carbonara was tasteless. Service was slow even though they weren’t busy and we had to ask for plates several times before they provided them -AVOID. You can do much better for...
Read morePopular for it's special setting, I would imagine. We had dinner here and it was good. Except we sent back a steak that was like leather and we had to pay for it. We were offered to order something else. My wife loves rare steak and the waiter insisted a few times about cooking it more. After it came out all chopped up! I had a piece and after a minute chewing took it out. The grilled vegetables were cold and super thin also. I'm not sure italy traditionally does good veg on the side. They were both ordered by my wife so it wasn't a good dinner for her. Disappointed the steak was charged and how the waiter dealt with this. Middle of the...
