L'Orlando Furioso — Restaurant in Spello

I have been thinking about this, but have decided to leave a review. When we visited Mr Furiosa’s restaurant, we ordered a jug of wine, however, no wine glasses, or indeed glasses of any kind, were brought to us. I waited patiently before eventually highlighting this to a member of staff, who seemed to think that drinking from a jug was, instead, the most appropriate option. Reluctantly they eventually brought us wine glasses. The house white wine was distinctly average. Disappointing for the region of Spello. As part of our courses, we ordered a large salad to start, and a pizza each (3 of us). The pizzas were below average in quality and very soggy. Our salad came when we asked for the bill. Despite our protests, they refused to remove the salad from the bill, even after speaking to Mr Furiosa himself. We have far better Italian restaurants in the UK, no need to visit Mr...

Probably not the place to go if you are foreign. This is evidenced by the many bad reviews and subsequent tirades by the owner against anyone who gives this place a bad rating and appears to be from outside Italy. Maybe have a look at the quality of your staff, suppliers and pizza oven before spewing nationalistic bile. Furioso by name Furioso by nature.

The good: nice atmosphere, lots of locals, it was cheap.

The bad: the pizza was soggy and the salad was akin to something you get in a supermarket. Very low quality ingredients.

The ugly: the service was a mixed bag but largely very poor. Service was slow, drinks served without glasses, orders mixed up and coming out in haphazardly.

There a lot of other places inside the city walls of Spello itself where the service is far better and the food...

We ate here after reading the hilarious reviews and responses from unhappy people - being foreigners we wanted to see what it was like.

We were treated very well and service was very fast despite a very busy evening. We had a big (beautiful!) dog beside our table that the owner offered to move away but we insisted it stayed because it was so delightful. We both had pizza and a few beers.
