Taverna Russo is not just a meal; it is a heart-warming masterclass in Sicilian hospitality and cuisine. My friend Malvika and I were recommended this spot by a mutual friend, and after our first incredible dinner, we immediately booked a second visit before leaving Ortigia!

What truly sets this restaurant apart is the genuine care from the people who run it. Piero, the owner, is the definition of a perfect host. He possesses incredible hospitality, making sure every guest is completely taken care of. He was constantly attentive, always checking in on us with a warm smile, and genuinely went out of his way to be incredibly accommodating.

We were lucky enough to sit close to the kitchen, and it was a joy to watch the magic unfold. We often caught the eye of the chefs, who would look our way and motion with a silent, simple gesture asking if everything was okay—a testament to their extreme attentiveness.

The genius behind the food is Chef Ernestina. She truly cooks with her heart and generosity, and you can taste her magic in every bite. Her dishes are profoundly flavorful and authentic. While everything was outstanding, you absolutely must try the Pistachio Semifreddo. It is hands-down the best dessert we had in all of Sicily—rich, creamy, and unforgettable.

We went to Taverna Russo for new year’s eve dinner. They offered a very nice menu including several courses and different types of great wine. Great atmosphere with skilled waiters. There was a 7 year-old kid with us and they brought her a more kid-friendly food that was very delicious, if not better than our food. There was a dj who played very good music. The good thing was that music wasn’t too loud so we could enjoy it but at the same time talk to each other. At some point before the main course there was a little party and then we continued enjoying our food. We had a great time at Taverna Russo and next time we are in Siracusa we will definitely visit...

Wir haben unsere Hochzeit in der wunderschönen Taverna Russo gefeiert – ein Tag, der für uns unvergesslich bleiben wird! Bereits von der ersten Kontaktaufnahme an lief alles absolut reibungslos. Obwohl wir die komplette Planung aus Deutschland organisiert haben, waren Enrico und Piero stets erreichbar, hochprofessionell und herzlich zugleich. Über Monate hinweg wurden zahlreiche Nachrichten ausgetauscht und Telefonate geführt – immer mit dem Gefühl, in den besten Händen zu sein.

Die Location selbst ist ein absoluter Traum: eingebettet in eine malerische Umgebung, mit liebevollen Details gestaltet und einer Atmosphäre, die einfach verzaubert. Das Essen – ein Gedicht! Jeder Gang war ein kulinarisches Highlight, frisch, authentisch und voller Leidenschaft zubereitet. Unsere Gäste schwärmen noch heute davon.

Was uns besonders beeindruckt hat, war die perfekte Organisation. Alles lief wie am Schnürchen, von der Dekoration über den Empfang bis hin zur Koordination mit DJ, Blumendekorateurin und der Konditorei für die Torte – Enrico und Piero hatten an alles gedacht. Das gesamte Personal war einfach fantastisch: aufmerksam, freundlich und immer mit einem Lächeln unterwegs – die besten Kellner, die man sich wünschen kann.

Unsere Erwartungen wurden nicht nur erfüllt, sondern weit übertroffen. Wir sind mit einem glücklichen Herz nach Hause gegangen und haben in den Besitzern nicht nur Partner für unsere Hochzeit, sondern auch echte Freunde gefunden.
