Memento Ristorante — Restaurant in Trani

The meal at Memento was poetry in food. Remarkable, exciting and memorable. Chef Domenico Capogrosso was generous with his time and knowledge. He spoke with insight about each course and the methods used to create every dish and allowed us to taste the wines offered by the glass. We ordered the truffled poached egg, the ‘parmagiana incartociatta’, the pork, the seafood risotto and the chocolate mousse. Domenico also provided some ‘tastes’ at the start and end of our meal. The poached egg with potato, fried zucchini and truffle delivered sweetness, creaminess and intense flavour. The pork was tender and rich, having been gently cooked over many hours. The risotto popped with colour and individual flavors. The atmosphere, food and service at Memento is luxurious, but the cost is not. Think intimate & friendly with a stylish menu. Amazing amazing. Taste explosion. Leave it to the chef. He is so passionate of his food that it reflects in every piece you receive. His complimentary starters were taste explosions. All so different but full of taste and passion. The raw fish right through to the amazing type of ravioli that he makes. Everything is unique. Even the tiramisu had a different slant on the conventional but still soooo smooth. This chef is the best you could ever expect. His choosing of the wine falls into the same category . His English also is very good. Just a wonderful experience and we wouldn’t have known if our friends didn’t take us there . Found this gem during our walk in Trani and this has easily became one of the top restaurants in my book!

Amazing attention to detail by chef Domenico, who carefully takes all the orders, explains the ingredients and the preparation process and offers a tailored made dishes “fuori menu”(outside the menu) which accommodates possible restrictions or demands.

Be prepared to taste a Michelin star worthy dishes for half the price. Absolutely everything was great, but if I had to recommend , the highlights of our lunch were brioche with shrimps, parmigiana and tuna starter, together with tiramisu (best tiramisu I have ever tasted and it is also egg free).
