Set in a building dating back to the 14th century, Locanda Ponte Dante is an osteria with rooms above. I stayed there for two nights but I didn't try the osteria. However, since I am very satisfied with my stay, I will not only stay again here the next time I am in Treviso, but I will try the food too.
The locanda is conveniently located 10 minutes walk from the train and bus station. A five minute walk gets you to the historical centre of the city. The room I stayed in, the Caronte room, is a single room and despite that, it is really spacious, including the bathroom. The tv is quite large and the same goes for the shower. The only thing that needs improvement is the water pressure of the shower head, although showering was great while using the overhead waterfall shower.
The breakfast was the best breakfast I have had in a long time. You will be offered fried or scrambled eggs, cheese or bacon or salmon, which are freshly cooked for you. The sweet breakfast includes cereals, juice, nuts, dried fruit, jams, yogurt and a fresh apple. Everything was very yummy.
Even though the locanda does not have a lift, there are only a few stairs and the staff kindly takes up and down your luggage as needed.
Thanks very much for the service and I...
Read moreAfter a month of travel in Europe, we enjoyed our favorite breakfast at this hotel -- primarily because of the table presentation. Each and every table was set with its own supply of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, etc.||Anyway, this hotel was very well located for us. It was walking distance from the train station, and adjacent to the old town center of Treviso. Also, it was just 2 minutes walk from where we met our Beescover guide for a walking tour of the city.||Our room was very comfortable, and we truly enjoyed the view of the canal from the window. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rate we paid was reasonable, and the WiFi & air conditioning was strong.||Our rate included breakfast (served starting at 7:30am), but we had to miss the breakfast on the last day of our stay -- so the hotel gave us a bag breakfast the night before.|| BTW, the hotel's restaurant was great too. We had dinner there one night, and it was our best...
Read moreSmall hotel and osteria with historical ambiente centrally located by the river Sile. Less than 10 min easy walk to Piazza dei signori. Curbside parking just opposite the hotel with a fee , or in the alternative, covered parking 200 m away. Our room was modernised to a high standard of comfort and had a good bathroom with a shower. The old walls and staircases had been painstakingly conserved and parts of old affreschi still visible. |Cleanliness and service were impeccable. Many thanks to friendly Gianmarco at the reception who helped us with parking and the luggage and had valuable restaurant recommendations for dinner. Gianmarco also served us an excellent breakfast in the osteria downstairs ( which was unfortunately closed at the time of our stay). Great service and overall good value for money! |We...
