I usually don't write reviews because I respect the industry, but the experience at this restaurant was extremely below expectations. It was a Saturday evening and very crowded and a longer waiting time was expected. 1. It took more than 1.5 hours from order to service. 2. we sat at the table with empty glasses for a good 40 minutes, because we had already finished our drinks during the long wait. 3. We only managed to catch the waiter after 1 hour and 10 minutes of waiting and got "sorry give me 5 more minutes" as an answer. 4. The entire right district did not receive a single pizza for more than 40 minutes. 5. After 1.2 hours, pizzas were served to the guests who came after us. When confronting the waiter about why this is so, we got:" your pizza is very special!!" Thank you! now I should have a bad conscience because I ordered a pizza which is worth €18 and very special! 6. The waiter did not warn me when I ordered a "special pizza" that instead of a pizza I would receive a very crispy, biscuit-like dough with a topping! The whole time, even after receiving the food, we were not asked if we would like something to drink. 8. As an apology for a truly unpleasant experience, we received 2 pieces of watermelon and homemade grappa, which are offered to all guests waiting for a table. Quality and not quantity would come in handy in this case. The feeling that it is only necessary to cash out and do absolutely nothing with the guests was very present here. I believe that with the right choice of words from the waiter, an apology and maybe a drink, many things could be resolved not only at our table, but unfortunately that was...

We went for a dinner at Pizza Assaje being told it is the best pizza in town.
At our arrival everything seemed promising, by the pizzeria being in a premium location, and the sign gourmet pizzeria raised our expectations and made us hope for the best.
We have being kindly sat at a table and after 10 minutes everyone ignored us, at least for the drinks. We tried to raise the attention of the waiters 3 times and let them know we would like to order the drinks at least without any success. Finally after approximately 20 minutes someone came taking our order which was delivered pretty fast. The quality of the ingredients was really good and the pizza was well baked. I cannot say it is the best pizza I have ever had or the best pizza in town but this is a matter of personal taste. For me the pizza overall was a 7 out of 10 but as I have already said it is my own personal opinion and preference.
While we were sat there one of the waiters dropped a fork on the ground(a thing that can happen) but let the fork on the ground for the whole time we were there (this denotes high unprofessionalism and disattention to details and customers). These being said I don’t want to say it was a bad experience but if you have a premium location and you charge customers premium prices (2€ for the coperto) than you should have a premium service as well as this makes part of the entire dining experience and can raise it or can ruin it as it happened...
Read moreIf you’re looking for an unforgettable pizza experience, Assaje is the place to be. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. The waitstaff were incredibly pleasant and courteous—attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring we had a great time.
The food? Absolutely fantastic. The pizza was rich in flavor, perfectly cooked, and generously topped. While I did notice a slight yeast aftertaste in the dough, it was a minor detail in an otherwise excellent meal. We also tried the Hugo cocktails, which were refreshingly well-balanced and a great pairing with the food.
What truly set Assaje apart was their charming and whimsical final touch—a delightful surprise of free shots of liqueur (pistachio, lemon, and melon flavors!) served with gummy candies and lollipops. It was the perfect, playful way to end the meal.
If I had to point out a downside, it would be the single unisex bathroom, which created a bit of a wait. But honestly, it’s a small inconvenience in an otherwise stellar dining experience.
Would I recommend Assaje? 100%, without hesitation. Great food, friendly vibes, and those post-dinner sweets and shots?...
