We came here together with my wife, on our second night in Tropea because of the good reviews it had, and because of the menu selection. When we got there, we were seated right away… there was still quite a few tables open, so I would call it moderately busy (definitely not very busy). My wife and I were pretty hungry so we requested water and bread to start… We waited for about 15 min and in the meantime watched the servers serve other Italian speaking people before they served us - Even though they arrived after we did. We called one of the waitresses over, who couldn’t understand English, and she communicated to us that she would call her colleague to speak with us instead (even though we already ordered once). We waited another 5 min, tried to get the attention of the English speaking server who just ignored us. Unfortunately I can’t tell you if the food here is any good, because we felt disrespected and left right after. We are definitely not the type of people to do this, but the place wasn’t overly busy, and we literally watched people who came in after get served by our SAME waiter first the exact same thing we ordered. The funny thing is, this place has 4.4 stars… we went to another restaurant with only 3.8 stars where it was busier, and they brought us our food faster and treated us with way more respect. The moral of this review is, if you don’t speak Italian… you probably will be served last. It’s a huge shame for...
Read moreAs someone with celiac disease this was a great restaurant for me as everything on the menu could be gluten free you just had to ask. I had the pasta and fries it was great. And the person accompanying me also said the regular non gluten free food was good as well as the gluten free food I had. The owner and his wife were very nice, always checking up on us and super accommodating. The owner saw that because I was gluten free I couldn’t eat the bread so he brought over gluten free crackers instead, it was something that really touched me as a person. It was a great place to stop and get away from the center of town a little bit and sit and have a conversation over dinner. Before we left the owner personally came over and asked if it was good and if everything was going alright to make sure we were satisfied. The guy waiter was also super nice and even saw that I was speaking English while the person accompanying me was speaking Italian, so tried to accommodate me and spoke English to me. Made me feel very welcome and comfortable as when you are oversees it can sometimes feel very hard in a place that speaks a totally different language. Overall I felt very comfortable and happy, really brightened up my mood during dinner. Thanks so much for the amazing experience and service, certainly on my go...
