This place literally has it all. From the moment we stopped by they quickly attended to us and sat us on the beautiful deck. The waiter was so friendly helping us with recommendations from the area and seemed genuinely happy to be serving us despite needing some english translation on the phone. For starters he recommended the seafood salad to go along with our tartare and both were absolutely delicious. The tartare was some of the best I’ve ever had with a unique seasoning and bursting with flavor. The seafood salad was very unique (although maybe more common in italy) and was very refreshing after a hot day. All of the seafood was cooked perfectly. We then tried the anchovy eggplant pasta which I never would have ordered myself as I dont like anchovies. But the waiter was right, it was delicious! Unlike in the US, the anchovy was not as extreme salty/fishy as the canned ones although still salty, it was very nice to try. The spaghetti was filled with sauce coating every noodle, and they plated it separately for the 2 of us despite only ordering 1. For the 3rd course we tried the seared octopus and the fried calabrian cod. Again both were wonderful but I especially loved the octopus, it was so flavorful and the perfect texture. They absolutely know how to cook their seafood to perfection. In addition to taste everything looked like it could be in an art gallery. It was so beautifully plated. Finally, for dessert we had pistachio gelato and we were brought a small sample of limoncello on the house. Everything was so wonderful, I wish I lived in Tropea so I could go here...
Read moreDon't bother. Overpriced, tiny portions. Don't believe the hype. It's not rare to get good quality food in this part of Italy, although it can be hard to find the right balance of price and quality in such a touristy setting as this. Incipit doesn't get it right. It is pretentious and obviously thinks it's better than it is. Maybe it used to be good, got a few good reviews and that went to their heads?! Now the prices are sky-high and portions of average food are miniscule. We were also disappointed by the service. The "risotto" was overcooked bland rice pudding mush, I had about 10g of fish in my swordfish pasta dish. And each antipasti and primi was over 17euro. That price would have been fine if the quality had been up to expectations and we hadn't left hungry. Also had to ask two different waiters, three times for the bill. They were busy, but worth mentioning as it was the cherry on top of one of a very few disappointing meals during our two week stay in...
Read moreIt was an amazing experience from start to finish! The owner recommended an incredible bottle of wine. Unfortunately a very rude customer came by our table to complain about how loud we were (being a large group of 14 with 2 children enjoying our meal what would you expect) the owner came up and apologized for this customers behavior and made sure our night wasn't impeded. First course was beyond anything I've ever tried the main course was to die for and the staff was incredible and extremely accommodating. I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone visiting Tropea, if you're not sure what to order, get anything off the menu. Its impossible to go wrong. If I could give more stars...
