The whole fish al forno (baked in the oven) is fantastic, We stated with mussels (cozze), which were really nice, and we had 2 different types of whole fish cooked al forno. Spigola(which is a sea bass) and a skinned monk fish. The wine choices were really good - we has a very nice Pasetti pecorino that matched perfectly the seafood.
The baked fish was juicy, perfectly cooked, it came with baked potatoes, olives and tomatoes, and we asked for the spigola to be deboned for us and the chef did a fantastic job to clean and debone the fish. They showed us the raw skinned monkfish before it was cooked and it was beautifully fresh. The photo of the spigola is with it deboned.
The table settings were crisp white table cloths, and the table settings were excellent.
We will definitely come back again. My only advice is to ask for an outside table, as inside it was noisy with the sound of small children. Otherwise an excellent experience. Well done team.

Read moreJust had a wonderful meal at Gusto di Mare. I ordered a hot “caldi” appetizer (6 different small dishes) and a bake branzino (al forno). The appetizers were tasty with a selection of scampi, octopus, sole fish, mussels & clams, a ravioli stuffed with fish and fried calamari (lightly battered and crispy) all these for 14 euros. The bake branzino (spigola) was delicious. The fish was very moist and perfectly cooked and the potatoes that came with fish was tasty and crispy (not easy to achieve with baking). The fish was 18 euros and a very good size about 600-700 grams easily. Between the hot appetizers and the fish I was stuffed. No need for primo. This is my third time there and the other two times we had pasta, appetizers (fredi and caldi) and bake rombo were all good. I will definitely keep going back to try...

Il cibo è molto buono e le porzioni sono davvero abbondanti (sia nella pasta sia nel condimento di pesce). Tuttavia il Personale, pur se gentile, è ridotto all’osso: una persona sola a prendere ordinazioni ed a servire, accompagnata da un’altra giovanissima ragazza per apparecchiare e sparecchiare oltre che servire. Una volta seduti, in 3, proviamo ad ordinare tre primi diversi ma ci viene detto che non è possibile per evitare problemi in cucina. Ci adeguiamo ed ordiniamo due primi diversi che arrivano in però in momenti diversi, non proprio ravvicinati. Soltanto a metà primo, arriva anche l’acqua …. dietro sollecito. Infine, Per pagare, un’altra decina di minuti di attesa alla cassa. In sintesi, il ristorante offre piatti cucinati bene e generosi ma non garantisce un servizio adeguato: ci vorrebbe almeno un’altra persona in sala ed una stabile in cassa, soprattutto considerato l’enorme numero di clienti che prendono cibo da asporto.
