Caffé Principe — Restaurant in Unione dei comuni della Versilia

This was our third visit to this establishment. On our previous visits, we enjoyed cappuccinos and croissants at the bar, but today we decided to sit down for a full experience. The staff in white dresses were exceptionally kind and welcoming, and they promptly escorted us to our table. However, after being seated, we experienced a 15-minute wait before anyone acknowledged our presence. When a staff member finally approached, he simply stood at our table, silently staring at us for about 20 seconds without any greeting. I eventually had to ask if he was going to speak.

For such a wonderful venue, it's unfortunate that this particular staff member seemed untrained in basic customer service. While I did not catch his name, we visited on August 10 at 1 PM. He was tall, wore glasses, had a dimpled chin, and curly hair. His demeanor was more suited to a different profession, as it lacked the warmth and professionalism expected in hospitality. Same demeanor when he brought our order. Sad!

We stopped by for a quick coffee and dessert but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. We ordered one espresso, two cappuccinos, two gelatos, and a tiramisu.

The espresso was okay, nothing special. The cappuccinos, however, were disappointing they tasted more like warm milk than actual coffee which really took away from the experience. The gelatos were fine but honestly just average nothing memorable. As for the tiramisu the portion was really small for the price and the flavor was light again, quite average.

The service and atmosphere were pleasant, which we appreciated, but overall, the quality of the food and drinks didn’t quite match the pricing or...

Our experience at caffe principe was horrible. we waited over 20 minutes in line just to be seated and when we finally sat down and ordered, our juice came with a bug in it. We returned it and asked for another one and it took them long to replace it. We also ordered 2 drinks and nuts/crackers which never arrived. The pastries we ordered took way above expected to arrived and we had to remind the waiters about it. They ended up being dry and not good. When we asked for the check, it took more than 10 minutes to arrive so we asked again and the waitress gave us attitude. All the drinks we ordered were overpriced and overrated.
