La Cucina Del Giardino — Restaurant in Unione dei comuni della Versilia

We had high hopes for our family dinner at La Cucina Del Giardino, but unfortunately, the experience was ruined right from the start by the incredibly rude host. We were running a bit late, about 10-15 minutes, which can happen when you’re wrangling kids and trying to get everyone out the door on time.

When we arrived, instead of a warm greeting or even a simple acknowledgment of our arrival, we were met with a cold and dismissive attitude. The host seemed almost gleeful to inform us that our table had been given away, as if he was punishing us for being late. No apology, no empathy, just a snide remark about how we should’ve been on time if we wanted our reservation honored.

We tried to explain that it wasn’t easy getting the whole family together, but it was clear we weren’t welcome. It felt like they were more interested in making a point than in accommodating their customers. The host’s attitude completely soured our evening, and we ended up leaving without even sitting down. It’s a shame because we were looking forward to trying the food, but we will not be returning. If this is how they treat their guests, I can’t imagine what else might be wrong behind the scenes. We’ll be taking our...

Absolutely unpleasant waiter, rude and mean. We were two couples who had booked for 8.30pm. When we realized we would be slighlty late, we called to politely let them know we would be 10mins late and they acknowledged. When we arrive it took time for us to find a parking spot in Forte dei marmi, therefore the guys went to find a parking spot while we, the ladies, went ahead to get seated. We arrived at the place and stood up for a while at the entrance before a waiter would even greet us. Then we finally got one of the waiters attention, he totally dismissed us and said in a very Rude way that we didnt have a seat here. When I insisted and gave the reservation name (under my husband first name) he continue ignoring us refusing to seat us at our table. So we waited the guys, when my husband came and approached him, he politely showed him our table. We obviously were shocked and did not want to stay in this place. Was it racism? Extremely displeased with the service , the place is okay but very simple setting. Very small reasonably priced menu, however nothing special by any means. The restaurant was recommended to us, so on our first night in Forte Dei Marmi we decided to go there for dinner without checking out other establishments. We came out relatively pleased with the experience and came back the following night, wow what a turnaround. The place was half empty and it took the server 20 min to come over. Placed an order for drinks, and following additional 20 min we walked out since we never got the order.
