Made us wait 20 mins outside after telling us to wait a moment.
Mushroom pasta had no taste. Ragu sauce was too watery.
Beef was chewy with lots of fat and no taste.
This was a tourist restaurant and I think the good reviews are from tourists who have not eaten at other restaurants.
Far too expensive for the quality of food.
Edit: To all diners, look at my last picture. The restaurant owners went to stalk my google review history. They went through my review history to discredit my review of their food. Do you want to eat at a restaurant so allergic to criticism that they end up stalking a customer’s account?
To 1: We walked in, the gentleman assured us he would be with us very fast. 20 minutes is not fast. If you told us the wait would be long, we wouldn’t have minded. We did also have a reservation at a different time, we just decided to switch up the time because your staff told us it would be very fast. If you can’t find my name in the reservation, that’s a management issue on your end, not a conspiracy theory that I’m a fake customer.
To 2: See the picture. That’s your pici ai porcini dish, as advertised on your menu. So many others have the same picture here, why are you denying you have a mushroom dish? If you don’t know your own menu, another management issue on your end. And take a look at the other picture of the Ragu sauce, it is full of water.
To 3: We told you directly to your face that the beef was chewy with no taste. We talked to the gentleman. We cannot get more direct than this without becoming rude. The gentleman told us it was normal and ended the discussion. He did not bother to provide further solutions. We tried to bring it to your attention but if you don’t want to listen to us in the restaurant, then maybe you’ll listen to us when we’re out of the restaurant.
To 4: We love food and have high standards, especially for Italy. I’ve been to Italy many times. This time we went to Rome, Tivoli, Bari, and of course Tuscany. We make sure to go to places that only speak Italian. So we know good Italian food. Out of all the restaurants on this trip yours was the worst without exaggeration.
You don’t want constructive criticism, you just want to hear positive things, but that’s not how reviews work. Reviews are opinions of people who ate at your restaurant and shockingly, some reviews are going to be bad.
If you cannot take criticism at all, please don’t pretend to accept...
Read moreWe found this place by the smell that was hanging in the small street, and the reviews just approved our theory that this place must be special.
First we were overwhelmed with the amount of options and new combinations in the menu, but our waiter helped us decide and gave us honest opinions without trying to sell anything. And this opinions lead us to the culinary highlights of our Toscana trip.
It was clearly noticeable that each ingredient was chosen with a thought in mind, and once put together, the experience made sense. Combining these simple things with creativity made the dishes outstandingly delicious. An example in my case were tiny pieces of apricots that felt like sweet treasures inside an already complete pasta dish.
Our second dish was a duck breast which by itself was delicious but thanks to the creativity of our host, combining it with onions and fried spinach the culinary journey found its destination.
We finished off with a tiramisu which is sooo big that even for two of us it was too much but don’t think we didn’t try since it was so delicious and we would definitely...
Read moreA lovely Tuscan restaurant in Pienza. It is the best lunch we had so far during our trip. The place is located in Pienza old town, it’s very close and accessible. We sat outside, enjoying the breezy autumn.
The food is just amazing - very tasty and delicious, cooked and served with love. The portions are huuge, we ordered the Tuscan cuts - variety of meats, cheeses, salads, such amazing flavors… As a main course we had home made pasta, and tiramisu for the desert. Tiramisu is a must try.
The staff is really friendly and kind, especially what I guess is the owner, very kind, funny and...
