A must-visit restaurant if you are in Pienza - Sette Di Vino. We arrived at the restaurant when it was dark, this restaurant only opens at 7:30 pm and you have to book a table in advance. However, when we arrived, there were no tables left (of course because you have to book a table in advance). The owner, Mr. Luccinano, was very enthusiastic with a little English and managed to check if there were any tables left but there were none left. We had to stand under the porch next door to find a restaurant to have dinner with regret. It was raining in Pienza tonight, we just wished that it would rain so someone would leave a table at the restaurant. Suddenly, Lucciano quickly ran out and called us in, saying that there was a table that was not available and could arrange for us. God really loved us. I told Lucciano "Please surprise us", a set of 3 main dishes: Lardo Di Colonnata bread + Bruschetta Al Pomodoro + Bruschetta Ricotta Cipollotto & Zuppa Di Fagioli soup; The final dish was Pecorino Grigliato + pork liver which I don't know the Italian name but is the best with caul fat wrapped on the outside. I ordered a bottle of local homemade white wine which according to Luccinano was only enough for 7 glasses with the price of 1 glass / 1 Euro... Actually all the dishes brought different emotions but in general it was the authenticity of the flavor; not ostentatious but very impressive to the taste buds. Lucciano also showed the qualities of a classy chef with the declaration: no pasta; no pizza; no coca cola light; no internet; no cappuccino... a lovely and professional extreme... above all the warm and kind feeling of the owner moved us. The last night in Pienza was really beautiful despite the rain thanks to the Sette Di Vino restaurant (7 glasses of wine as the standard for 1 bottle at...
Read moreThis place was amazing!! Trust all the reviews when they tell you that it feels like you’re eating in someone’s home. The food was absolutely delicious and felt sooo home cooked!!
When we walked in before opening and asked for a reservation, the kind gentlemen let us know that there is no pasta and no florentine steak, and we were totally great with that! We’ve had enough pasta on our trip and wanted to try something new and different and it did not disappoint!!
The staff and owner are all so lovely!! The gentleman that waited on us gave us a rundown of the menu (because it was in Italian) and we asked him to recommend a dinner for us and he did! It was all so delicious. We loved it so much and our time there was fun and romantic.
Definitely if you can, call ahead and make a reservation!! Something that my husband and I do is we like to see if we can peek in and walk into the restaurant about an hour before opening and see if they can have any openings, and it has worked well for us so far!
Another plus is that this is the most delicious and affordable meal we’ve had in Italy as a sit...
Read moreLocal Tuscan cuisine. We called on a Friday evening 5pm and were very lucky to get a last-minute reservation that same evening (saw many groups tried to walk-in but couldn't get a table, reservation is highly recommended)
The boss might sound a little loud/fierce at first, but he’s actually very kind and welcoming. He recommended dishes for us, every choice turned out to be excellent. Our favourites: pork liver & Crostino with chicken liver. The staff were friendly and thoughtful, treated us to a “magic coffee” and a local Pienza dessert.
The sweetest touch came at the end: the owner gifted us a postcard with a photo of the very spot where we had been sitting. Such a thoughtful gesture that made the experience truly memorable. Highly recommend for anyone...
