I am a totally foodie, especially of Italian food. While in Pienza my boyfriend and I had a caffe at a super fancy restaurant with the most stunning view but it was super formal and expensive so we asked the waiter (newphew of the owner) for a recommendation for a restaurant frequented by locals and his favorite restaurant. He said hands down, Trattoria da Fiorella. It was a bit off the beaten path. Very quaint, with an amazing atmosphere. The staff and family of the owners had such passion about their food and the town of Pienza (and Toscano in general ) my boyfriend had Ribollito Tuscany soup, that was to die for. I got their recipe which was just general ingredients. Iâm not on a mission to replicate it. (Doubtful because we canât get the fresh ingredients in the states) I had the grilled pork (not sure of the marinade they used) but it was grilled to order and was out of this world, also had the crostini with liver lateâ, desert was a cream pie (canât remember the name but forever will remember the taste) caffe was perfect. Macchiato, btw, Italian macchiato is nothing like American macchiato. It does not have sugar in it. It is basically a double espresso with a tad of milk. The local wine that was recommended was absolutely divine. I know I sound like I am getting paid to write this or am a family or friend. I can assure you I am not. I am just so over the top impressed with this place and with the family that runs it and prepares all the meals with their own secret recipes. If you are in Pienza, this is a place that you will not...

Friendly and helpful, even smiling when a lone American girl made their job very hard by demanding the water bottle be sealed to the table, the pecorino cheese sauce was too heavy (hello thats Pecorino) WITH the polenta because the pasta has too much gluten AND to top it off, the take away box (yes she couldnât finish her spinach) the take away box was too large. She then left without tipping. And I thought Americans tipped good service. Thisw guys were...
Read moreVery disappointing experience â 1/5
The day before our visit, we asked if we needed to reserve a table and were told that reservations were not necessary and that they donât even take them. However, when we arrived the next evening right at opening time, we were turned away because all the tables were apparently reserved. We were left without dinner and very frustrated. This kind of inconsistency and poor communication is unacceptable. We were really looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.
It might be a good food there but for such disappointing expirience I'm...
