This was one of our best meals during our time in Europe and definitely the best meal in Venice

We discovered this restaurant as we were walking back to our accommodation. We decided to take the long way back so we can avoid the craziness of the center of Venice. Thank goodness we did!

We saw this cute little restaurant right next to the canal and went inside to see the menu. We met the owner who could not be kinder. He and his wife both own the restaurant and she is the executive chef. We booked our reservation for later that day for dinner and chose the table next to the window overlooking the canal.

We arrived at the restaurant and the service was so kind and attentive. Our table was set beautifully and the atmosphere was so cozy and romantic. We decided to do the tasting menu and order a bottle of wine.

The food is absolutely delicious, especially the sardines, gnocchi, the turbot, and the desserts! You will be stuffed after this meal and very happy. The wine recommended to us was a perfect compliment.

Chatting with the owner felt like chatting with an old friend. We met his wife and she is so lovey.

We HIGHLY recommend everyone to visit this restaurant and indulge in a wonderful experience of food,...

El Magazen is not just a restaurant; it's a canvas where Venice's rich history and modern culinary innovation blend seamlessly. From the name that echoes the storied past of Venetian trade and storerooms to the sustainable decor featuring upcycled briccole and marble, El Magazen honors its roots while embracing the future. The food is a journey through textures and flavors, with the cod jaw croquettes standing out as a perfect example of the kitchen's creativity and commitment to utilizing every part of the ingredient. Dishes like the homemade gnocchi with a delicately spiced curry sauce and the fresh, tender lobster tartare over perfectly cooked spaghetti showcase a balance of sophistication and heartwarming comfort. The panna cotta, a symphony of fresh fruits and creamy decadence, concludes your meal not just with a dessert, but with a statement of beauty. Each plate at El Magazen tells a story, with chapters full of innovation, respect for tradition, and a palpable love for Venice's...

El Magazen is a very cozy and charming restaurant! Wonderful and kind service to compliment the delicious food. My girlfriend and I aren't much for alcohol, so I can't say anything about the wine, but they had a large selection that I have no doubt would add to the already amazing food and atmosphere offered.

The server was very kind and patient with us as we did not speak Italian and explained the menu very well when we had questions. We ordered the vegetable and cheese platter as a starter which blew away our expectations! The vegetables were grilled to perfection and went very well with the cheese. We got the agnolotti and squid ink pasta as entrees which we both enjoyed very much! For dessert, we ordered Pana Cotta and tiramisu, which were also amazing!

Not sure if we followed propped etiquette for Italian dining, but the staff never made us feel out of place for it! We had a great time and loved the food!...

Best meal we had in Venice- had the sea bass and a duck pasta (can’t remember the name. Nino was the best host we had in all of Italy (We’ve been to Almafi Coast and Florence so far). The atmosphere was also the best(and great background music), we sat inside beside a window right next to the canal which we could causally see). The food was so impeccable and exactly what you’re looking for to get away from the touristy restaurants, this a top of the line local restaurant by a wonderful husband and wife whose beautiful relationship you can see in the brief moments you have here. Make a reservation, you won’t be able to just drop in unless you’re lucky. Only takes a second on google just do it! He even gave us the traditional Burono cookies and lots of bread!(Also good recommendations)
