We are a family of four (kids 13 and 11) and recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. As many reviews have said it is difficult to find. However, if you have access to internet or buy a local map (€3.50) you should be able to find it pretty easy. It’s a seven minute walk from the Rialto stop on the Grand Canal. The neighborhood is wonderful, away from most of the hustle and bustle of Piazza San Marco which is ten minutes away. Plenty of nice local restaurants to choose from. ||The hotel was as expected. From the pictures online I figured the interior would be a little dated and it was. I’m sure the humidity in Venice doesn’t help. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the linens were clean. The air conditioning could use some help. It was just cool enough in our room. The dining area and hallways were cooler. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was good enough. The shower showed signs of patchwork. We had ants one day, informed the staff and they took care of it immediately. The WiFi signal was strong. It went out once but was also fixed quickly. ||The free breakfast was continental. A few pastries, a little fruit, juice, coffee, cereal and hard boiled eggs. My wife asked for soy milk for a cappuccino but they only had regular. The very next day they had soy milk. Great personal service! ||As many have said there is no staff at the desk. You have to ring the bell in front to call for assistance. Even so, I found them to be attentive to our requests. This is a three star hotel and I wouldn’t expect it to be more than that. I found that rooms that accommodate four people in this price range are rare in Venice. I feel we got what we paid for. The staff (though few) was nice and...
Read moreRecently visited this hotel on our honeymoon, and it was awful. |First of all, it is so difficult to find. It was our first time in Venice, and we arrived quite late at night. None of the locals seem to have ever heard of it, there are no signs and it took us hours. When we eventually arrived and buzzed the door, we had to wait inside the small hallway for around 15 minutes for a member of staff to turn up from another hotel. We got shown to our room, which was unbelievably small. It was depressing, with a disappointing view and was generally very tired. The bathroom walls were absolutely covered in hair, which made me feel sick. The shower was a dribble of water, which was so low down I had to hold it above my head to wash my hair. The bed was unbearably uncomfortable (which I understand everyone is different when it comes to beds and mattresses etc, but I am currently writing this with a heat pack on my neck and shoulder as it is 2 days later and I am still in pain. I have never experienced a bed like this.) The room was like a sauna, we had the window wide open all night but I barely slept as we could not work out the heating and there was no staff to ask. |The next morning, the breakfast was okay (I guess??) But the lady there was very unapproachable, everything seemed to be an effort for her so we felt too uncomfortable to complain about anything. |We stayed another night, but after another terrible sleep we just had to move hotel, which was beautiful and we were treated like royalty. ||Please, if you are looking for something a bit special, or a romantic time away, do not...
Read moreStayed here for 4 nights. We had a late flight so didn’t arrive in Venice until 10pm. By the time we got our cases and travelled from the airport it was 11pm before we arrived at the hotel. The hotel is in a tiny narrow side street and the door was locked. We knocked the door and after a few minutes a man came and let us in. He wasn’t very welcoming nor did he help me carry my suitcase up the two flights of stairs. He showed us our room and left. He did not offer us anything to drink. There was nothing in the fridge and no shops were open at that time to buy one! The room was a small room, ridiculously hot and did not smell the best. We put the air con on to cool it down a bit over night but it did nothing! It was cooler without it on. We ended up having to keep the window open every night but ended up inviting loads of mosquitos in which kept biting us leaving us with horrible spots everywhere. Breakfast was decent. Nice little set up. Offered tea and coffee every morning. You help yourself to the continental breakfast. |There is no staff in the hotel. The only time you see some one is at breakfast so you can’t get help from anyone. |On our last night at 10:20pm as we were in bed ready for the early start the next day, a man knocked the door asking what time we are leaving tomorrow. Confirming this information when we checked in would have been the ideal thing to do, rather than disturb us at night. This hotel is more like a bed and breakfast and is a...
