A wonderful, informal pasta shop run by Francesco serving superb home-made dishes!
My girlfriend and I originally popped in on the first day of our trip (Friday) and asked Francesco if he'd be open Sunday (the day we were going to try his pasta). He was really friendly and accommodating and let us know that he was planning on opening that day. It was then to our surprise that upon our return the shop was closed due to unforeseen circumstances. Francesco left an incredibly sweet note on the front door of the shop, apologising about the inconvenience with a particular apology to my girlfriend and me, who he'd promise he'd be open for. Despite our disappointment, we knew we had to return the following day before our flight back to London to thank him for the personalised note and try his pasta.
It's safe to say we weren't left disappointed - we shared two portions of pasta, a gnocchi and the homemade tiramisu. All of which were incredible!
If you are looking for a great quality, well priced and informal lunch served by a true Venetian gentleman, look no further.
Thanks...
Read moreSuper fresh and delicious pasta. My family was staying in a hotel right across the square from here and ate here twice over a 4 day period. We came once at lunch and once at dinner and the owner was there both times. He is incredibly nice and helpful and will explain everything to you your first time in. between the three of us visiting twice we sampled a decent variety of the available options and they were all amazing. It is on a nice quiet square so if there are no tables left it is easy enough to eat in the square. The owner has obviously worked hard to build his business and I wish him continued success. See you next time we're in Venice!
Edit: We just returned from our second trip to the area and ate here three times this time! I think we've had every sauce and pasta sauce he offers now and they are all amazing! Can't wait to come again...
Read moreI ended up loving their mixes, Smoked cheese sauce hits so deep! The plain old tomato and basil is not even close to bland, with the dried oregano it's just a mouthful of flavour, and let's talk about the butter and sage: fresh sage hits differently and freshly ground black pepper with some grated cheese will end up brightening your lunch stop!
They don't have seats so you might be tempted to walk away, just DON'T!! You can have lunch ready in literal three minutes, the time it takes for the pasta to come up from the boil, and Roberto has a great and magnetic personality, who will keep you company all along.
Loved this place, recommend it to anybody willing to move away from the crowded roads and eat a good lunch.
P.s.: the tiramisu is top notch! REAL traditional tiramisu made fresh on the fly with mascarpone and savoiardi,...
