Dear PJ Quesada, You would have the NERVE to review a restaurant you never ate in ??? I come from a corporate, greedy, rip off, homogenized country, of overpriced, banal food, served in ridiculously oversized portions, and would never call this overpriced for the quality I got... but you who left without eating or tasting the food feel qualified to leave a review?
How many restaurants in your life, had “EVERYTHING “ delivered by boat?
Perhaps None???
So please do not misadvise readers by your stupid remarks...
This is a “real” Venetian Landmark with appropriate prices and truly “superb” food and service... You are so clueless... this is the annex of Harry’s Bar... the most famous restaurant , not just in Venice, but in the entire country!....have you never heard of a Bellini ?( and €19 not €17!)... Hemingway ? Carpaccio ?... anything synapsing here?... no of course not as you have no clue as to the history of the places you visit .... locals come here to “not” meet people like you! My lunch yesterday, for €128 euros, was at least $300 in New York or Los Angeles “IF”you could even find this “Thomas Keller” “Guy Savoy” quality for a lunch, overlooking a panorama of the “real” most romantic city in the world. It was just awesome, sitting on the Giudecca Canal” drinking “real” Pinot Grigio from the sublime Cantina “ Jerman” ...(chasing off the teenaged Sea Gulls with Ice Cubes...).
I eat out over 500 times a year , breakfast , lunch, and dinner and this was in the top five...
Please go if you love food, and if you have a clue, you will agree, this place is an oasis in a sea of mediocrity and rudeness.
A simple question....Did you save your money to come to Venice? Or did you come to Venice to save Money?
Your answer will tell readers if you have a clue or not.... and yes, for lunch I opted for the three course, epic, €60 euro menu( hardly a rip off !!!) Had the most delicious “real “ Bellini( why you go to Harry’s !!!), and had a reasonable €38 bottle of superb wine ( Macaroni Grill in Corporate Land sells average Chianti for $35, the cheapest wine on their corporate list...how much is the cheapest bottle at Le Cirque, or Guy Savoy, or Joel Robuchon?
Please eat in a restaurant before you write comments, and to all the other bad reviewers , where did you eat?... this place does not know how to serve anything but...
Read moreWell, this is a special place I am fortunate to say I got to visit. We were celebrating a family members achievement, so we already had planned out a reservation, boat ride to and from, and almost everything else.
Location: 10/10 Literally right on the water, this romantic food venue is located on one of Venice’s islands that is accessible by boat. The charming aspect of the islands waterways and boats provided amazing scenery while we had a 5 star meal. No pigeons bothering us, just seagulls enjoying their natural environment.
Staff/Service: 10/10 Cipriani is known for their high-end food and service, and the people that work there were all dressed coordinated and wore similar outfits. I mean, it’s true that at most restaurants people do that, but these servers we very well groomed, professional, and courteous. We took a boat there and once we reached the dock a server helped us off the boat and to our table. Also, when we left they were very respectful in saying goodbye the same way they greeted us.
Food: 10/10 Pasta, seafood, steak, appetizers; you name it and they had it. Food was spectacular and didn’t take too long once we told them what we wanted. Also impressive was how they brought out the desert. They brought out 3 desert dishes on display and offered us that way, instead of a typical desert menu.
Overall, Cipriani has many spots in Venice. This one is special because it’s on the water. It left me feeling romantic. As an American who traveled to Italy many times, I am impressed with how professional the people at all Cipriani locations were. If you can afford this, take a boat there and you’ll see what I am...

There were many wonderful things about out time in Venice, but nothing topped the meal at this restaurant. We made two assumptions before arriving 1) it would be pricier than other places and 2) we would need to dress our best. We arrived before sunset, and were seated on the patio overlooking the canal, which was breathtakingly gorgeous. The waiter was extremely pleasant, and when he saw we were fumbling over their menu he brought us one in English. The majority of people who arrived after us seemed to be locals, and all were dressed very nice. We were treated to Bellini's and a spread selected by the chef that included their carpaccio, tuna tartare, prosciutto, salmon, and beats and asparagus. They cleaned and reset our table before each new course. We only ordered 1st dinner because we were so full after the spread. For main dishes we thoroughly enjoyed the squid ink pasta and baked green pasta. We said "thank you" a lot in Italian which I think the waiter found both amusing and sincere. At the end of the meal we ordered cafes knowing how expensive the rest of our meal had been. The waiter ended up bringing out a complimentary piece of chocolate cake that I will...
