HOSTERIA DEGUSTO SINCE BAR SPORT — Restaurant in Venice

While staying in Mestre, my boyfriend and I wanted to have a snack and some drinks. As it was just before 23:00, I was aware that there is a possibility that the bar would not be serving food. So, as common sense would prevail, I asked, would it be possible to have something to eat. "Yes, it is possible, but only pizza". Seemed reasonable.

So we sat down, ordered a drink while we were left to look at the menu. Quickly glanced and I picked a pizza to order when our drinks arrived. We were then told, "You can order 2 pizzas, but not one". "Excuse me?" "The kitchen is closed, will open to cook two pizzas but not one".

AMAZING. service guys were very kind, friendly and professional. Food was amazing, very tasty and even looked really good. For the location you would think they are very pricy and not too good but was actually decently prized for what you get. It seems they have a few main/food waiters and a bar waiter and they forgot to add our cocktails to the final bill and we had to tell them 😅 Oh also they of course offered us shots of limonchello and amaro after the meal as digestives free of charge 😄 can only recommend, if you read this far, im telling you, you have to take a visit if you...

Following our meal, my wife looked to me and said: "That's the worst pizza I've ever had in my life." Mine wasn't quite so bad, but still pretty bad, and also burnt around the edges. I tried some of her pizza, and I wouldn't say it was the worst I've had, but the second worst as there's a place in Folkestone that still reigns supreme as being the worst. You could buy the cheapest pizza from a budget supermarket and it would be nicer than what I ate here.

The pizza also took ages to arrive, despite it being very quiet, and the drinks were ridiculously expensive.
